I kinda have to start a diet because I tore a ligament, and I dont want to gain more wheight. So my question is, will doing a milkshake diet help me out? I know that cutting calories is a good way, and with the diet, ill definetely cut some calories, but I want to hear some personal testimonies if anyone does it or knows anyone that does do it. and since im thinking of starting with herbalife, i want to hear what you guys think of it tool. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the 'herbalife' product, but liquid diets are generally pretty shitty.
Liquid diets work because it's easy for people to know exactly how many calories are in a serving. It's easy to mass produce these products with cheap ingredients and market it as a weight loss solution. They 'work' simply because if you replace 2 meals a day with a 200calorie drink then you are bound to lose weight.
Basically, I think they are rubbish (in general). They may be useful used occassionally for busy people. But most people are much better off learning about proper nutrition and eating real food.
It's not difficult to create a calorie deficit while eating properly.

Also, you can quite easily make your own meal replacement powder (MRP) for a fraction of the price.

agree with compleks... i wouldn't go for a store-bought liquid diet but i do occasionally do juice-fasts by consuming mostly blends/shakes/juices I make myself for a few days. That can be a good way to drop some weight or just cleanse your system.

I read that Jujimufu's (correct spelling right?) diet was almost all shakes. So if he does it, then it works doesnt it?
Where does it say that his diet is almost entirely made up of shakes?

His diet is not nearly all shakes. Have a look through the articles at the amount of food he prepares each day.

Herbalife is quality stuff. I highly doubt whatever distributer you spoke to regarding their product said a diet that consisted entirely of shakes. They offer and suggest a meal replacement shake for one of your suggested 5+ meals a day, but their primary motive is just getting people to live a healthier lifestyle and eat less garbage.
You don't need an expensive weight loss product, just count your calories (carbs/fats/protein) like in Juji's guide and you're golden.

"a lot" of shakes and a diet consisting solely of shakes is two different ballparks.

I don't think you're understanding.
If you are trying to lose weight, or even maintain your current weight, then you simply need to avoid consuming more calories than you expend. If replacing a meal or two each day with a low calorie 'shake' will keep you from 'over-eating' then ofcourse it will 'work'.
It's not 'working' because the shake has some secret formula for weight loss.
I would much rather sit down and eat a giant salad, or something that might come close to satisfying my hunger. Which I'm sure a diet supplement would not.

I think what Juji mentioned before was that shakes are very versatile. You can add pretty much anything you want to them (vegetables, fruit, grains...) as long as they taste good, and will be good nutritionally if you don't have time to prepare a meal.

Except that good shakes take a while to prepare anyway.
If you're blending everything up yourself, then it has the potential to be a good meal. But if you're buying a pre-packaged 'diet' shake, then it's likely to be rubbish.
Personaly.. I totally agree with you... But you can also just.. take some water XD ... WATER ROCKS :D... I only drink that.. and Just eat allot of fruit.. cut most of the meat.. eat fish..
