View Full Version : 2005-2008
Three years of tricking...the best years of my life. I met Shaian and Alexiel in high school and grown to be best friends with them. Everything we've been through has only made it more worth it. We've grown as friends and as a team together, Team Kakumei.

I'm Kou and this is my progression over three years time.
I've been in Taekwondo for 6 years and tricking for 3. First year was filled with dreams, aspirations, and fight scenes. 2006, had the greatest explosion of progression after we started attending a gymnasium under the guide of a private instructor. 2007 was where I worked on variations and combos. And now I'm here in 2008 hoping to clean my current collection of tricks and learn more so I can finally be a true corkscrewing, b-twisting, jackknifing tricker.
I haven't accomplished all the goals I've set in the time I expected, but I'm never going to give up. I don't have much to judge from but you tell me what you think, TT.
EDIT: youtube screwed up some scenes, so sorry about the pixel transitions in 2005, apparently I sucked that bad in that year lol

This was great and inspiring. You did an amazing job editing and brought together some good clips. Besides the fact that either my computers video playing got messed up or the video quality was screwed at some points. I enjoyed it very much.
thanks! I tried really hard to work on the video and get the clips to fit ^^;
and it's not your computer, youtube screwed up the transitions in 2005 T_T and after all that work too...ugh.
That is an insane sampler ! I loved the progression man ! Keep up the good work.

You got really good near the end!
Tho the quality issues with the early parts made that section hard to watch

That was actually really cool! It reminds me of the hella old Dave C and Steve samplers Urban Expose, Sweetness and Breathing
I don't know why, but i absolutely LOVe these kinds of samplers.
Wow, thanks a lot guys! I really appreciate all this awesome feedback! It really makes it a lot more worth it knowing you're recognized for your hard work. I did put a lot into this video, and because it was so long my video editor crashed...twice. Yea...was a bitch to redo but it was worth it for these kinds of responses.

they're called Trips, Shaian got them for my birthday last year, and they certainly are wicked \m/ they unzip into shorts and zip up into pants but you can't do any sweeps or land on your knees because the zipper will cut your knees up >.0

thanks dude, it's inspiring to know I'm...inspiring? lol but I'm glad everyone thinks so, I wasn't sure if my progress was good considering 3 years of training I put into it. I know my kicks can definitely use some work, but maybe someday they'll be like your's

i like your hook kicks, they're really snappy and nice. really sharp kicks are few and far between
Nice Vid, Good show of progession. Always nice to see people that have progressed at the same rate I have, Rather than just exploding in the space of 30mins. Good job man Keep up the work.
all these comments and views and only one rating lol wow XD

lol yea I know, my team and I used to know nothing more than a cartwheel and a tornado kick so we improvised most of the time XD good or bad, it was definitely fun even if we didn't know what we were doing.

haha, someone else said that already too! Wow, I hope I end up as good as he is *_* that would so freakin rock! \m/

yay, I'm good with kicks...lol okay, I'm really only good with kicks I use in sparring, so that might be why. Because when I try hook kicks out of 720 variations or jackknife attempts, I fail miserably. Maybe once I nail the moves down I can translate those 'awesome hook kicks' into them, but until then be patient and brace for crappy downward crescent kicks x___x

hah, yea I know, I was worried I would get comments like "three years and you're only at THAT level!? quit now!" or something ^^; but I appreciate all the praise and kind things everyone has said. I always try to push myself to get bigger and better moves but I'm realizing now that I won't get any better until I solidify and clean up my basics, so I'll be working on that for now. I'll keep an eye out for you as well, dude
