I am trying to go from my first flare into my second flare but as I swing my right leg through the left leg stay's locked and my left foot hit's the ground as my left leg stay's straight.

What's up with them?:dead:

I assume you're going CCW?

There's any number of things that could be going wrong (without a video).
Your hips are most likely not high enough off the ground. So when you try to swing your leg back, it doesn't have enough room to swing through so it hits the ground.

But then again, your hips could be not high enough off the ground for a plethora of reasons. You could not be swinging right, the flare you're doing right now could not be right, this that and the other thing.

With flares there's a whole dang list of things that need to go right to even be able to do it. For that reason: VIDZ PLZ! It's very hard to diagnose your problem without a video in the case of the flare.

Here's what you can do:
Try doing flares on an elivated surface. Ask for a mushroom at a gymnastics facility if you have access.
If not, bend your legs in the back initially, and that usually works for me when I get tired while doing flares and it will work for you and stop you from hitting your legs unless your problem is rooted in:
1/ You're doing them absolutely wrong (I doubt this, but it's always something I ask myself.)
2/ You need to straddle your legs more coming around in the front, the more you straddle the easier it will be. Having a splits in the air will make it damn easy.
3/ you're not strong enough in the arms. I'm sure you are, so make sure your pushing down on the ground as hard as you can. And don't bend you arms!

Hope this was helpful.

Mushroom ftw. That will teach you how to get up in the back. If you learn on the ground first, it's very easy to start a habit of bending your legs in the back, which is extremely difficult to break.

i know this sounds like a tip for every single other move, but seriously point your toes as much as you can, it sounds stupid but it will help and it is a noticble the first time you try it.
