alright, i train for gymnastics three days a week for conditioning, i stretch everyday no matter what, and my nutrition is punctual and as close as i can get to perfect, no cheat meals
waters not an issue either

i read jujis article on efficient tricking and it really makes me wonder how much better i possibly could be. the thing is, is i surf and skimboard almost every day, which in other words is aerobic waste that i shouldnt be doing, i know surfing jacks up my stregnth because if i do it to often i feel a lot weaker with other things, but skimboarding is sprinting down a hill and walking back up it.

i want to do all sports of skimboarding, surfing, and defiantly gymnastics but i feel i might have to cut out those things and do just gymnastics, what do u guys think? does it affect performance that much to be sprinting?

It depends on you, how has it effected your gymnastics so far?

There's no magical law saying that doing that extra work is going to hurt your tricks/gymnastics. Usually it will, but you may be in the right physical shape to be able to. I'd experiment with it if I were you, just go about your current routine and see if your gymnastics suffers. Try cutting some things out, and see if you notice any improvement.

Not to mention, it depends on your session habits. If you have the energy to say "hey i wanna do some gymnastics," and you can do it, there shouldn't be anything hindering your progress.
Also, if your gymnastics practice is move after move after move all session long just cranking stuff out, then you'll be more prone to running out of energy. If your session modus operandi is just focus your energy on one trick, then another trick, doing each through set intervals of time, then you're less likely to run out of energy and reap negative effects.

Are you an elite level gymnast or something?

Really, it sounds to me that you enjoy your non-gym hobbies. Why give them up for gym? You're young and active, which is great. Would you really be happier if you improved your gym, but missed out on all the other things you enjoy in life? You'll definitely not be able to do all this stuff when your 50, so enjoy it while you can, I say.

good idea, ill try it out because theres crappy weather for the next few days and usually i force going to the beach anyways, ill just take a break and see what happens to my gymnastics

i love surfing and skimboarding and i also kiteboard if anyone knows what that is, i think those hobbies are much more fun than gymnastics but i want to be the best at gymnastics and those hobbies are only for adrenaline and enjoying the beach, i wish i could live inland sometimes so i could just focus my whole life on gymnastics, but its hard when i live near the beach

stop worrying

let it be for a while, if shit is working, don't fix it

if you're feeling drained, drop something or take a week off

not hard

I advise kitoshos advise

Either that or try out the average TT'ers diet, 16 hours of internet a day and 30 minutes trick training.

People brought up good points.

What is your normal daily caloric intake? Average is somewhere around 2,000/day. Since you get SO much exercise, you may want to think about 3,000 or 3,500. Going into a deficit will decrease your energy and increase recovery time. If you're not trying to lose weight and your diet isn't already substantially large, I would recommend having snacks here and there. Avoiding too much fat if you want to be ripped. For example, when I jog for about 45 minutes around the hilly terrain I have here, I'm probably burning around 600 calories doing just that. Then I hit the gym just about every day including days I jog. I probably eat about average, watching what I eat so I don't have too much fat. I should be eating more really.

I get quite tired too, especially after 3 or 4 days of exercise. There is really no need to cut activities out of your life, just make your gymnastics priority, like you do. Then alternate your other activities for a couple of days when you aren't doing gymnastics, and take one day a week off just to do nothing. Make sure you get enough sleep and be consistent with your hours.

It is great to see that you have such an active life, you just need to manage it in a way that works best for you.

This may or may not help you but I was given this information by a coach/teacher/personal trainer. It isn't totally accurate but more an approximation.

In terms of energy consumption over time:
Carbs and sugars kick in in about 30 minutes.
Fats about an hour.
Proteins are consumed for energy within a 3-6 hour period.

So if you get started with some carbs and take in some protein for later it may help steady your energy as opposed to eating and getting a boost, then becoming tired and eating again. Just food for thought. You may already have this figured out though.
