PETA have been on the news of late, rallying against buying Australian Wool to one of the biggest importers for America.
Apparently the American company is supporting PETA and no longer buying the wool from Aus, but sourcing it from other countries that don't 'maim and cause uneeded distress' sheep.
They would rather that we DONT cut the tails of the sheep, instead letting them get fly rot

I don't know about other countries or parts of the US but the flies in farms are MASSIVE and there are a whoooole heap of them

But with that said, it's the attack on Aussie wool that really shits me since it's so close to home. Our wool farmers have it fairly tough as it is and they don't need that kinda bad press out there tarnishing their image. Especially since it's so unjustified.

All are either intelligent, loyal, beautiful, etc. We avoid eating most predators both because we feel something in common with them and because being higher on the food chain probably aren't as contaminant-free as something other. People do occasionally eat bears, but generally you don't really eat bears, or dogs, or seals. I'd eat a seal before I would a dog or a bear since they fucking piss me off.

I wouldn't say that chickens are killed cruelly. They're stunned before being exsanguinated, just like any other animal. Sometimes it goes wrong, but in general, it is fairly humane.
