I am getting pains in the lower right side and left side of my back, hurts every time i do any trick, and also any other moderate-high intensity movement.
It slowly happened when i first started tricking... and slowly got worse, and now i can't trick properly anymore for the last month or so.
It used to be on the left side, now its on the right.
Anyone else had this? I spoke to one tricker who said he also used to have it.
Any idea what i should do to help get it better? I really want to continue tricking as i was progressing well.
Thanks

strecthing, yoga
strech your back
By the way what are you licking at your avartar?
Strengthen your lower back and hamstrings as well as some abdominal work.

i had this and i still do. switch matresses or flip yours upside down, that might help. it did for me anyways.
I Had the same problem for a couple months and only resolved it about 2-3 Weeks ago.
Stretch your lower back everyday, Strengthen all core muscles so back and front to not cause an imbalance.
Have lots of rest when your back feels really weak or stretch but only strengthen when it feels good.
Hope this helps you as it helped me.

Stretch your abs too. Flexible abdomen = more ability to bend backwards

Right now at this moment its the worst it has been.
Cant walk properly, cant bend over properly, find it hard to sit down.

The pain is still there
Its much better, i can do basic kicks, but i tried one 540 and it hurt badly.
Ive had about 1 tricking session in the last 3 months, which went ok, but hurt when i tried a 540, and i am scared of doing any tricks at home because i dont want the pain to get worse.
It doesnt seem to be getting better, it has got to the point it is now but its been like that for about a month and i havnt tricked properly.
Any ideas, this is frustrating me so much, I really want to continue tricking, i had only just started

I have this too... It started for about a year ago and got worse as I continued training. The only thing that makes it better for me is sit-ups and back-excercises (I'm lacking skills in explaining this, but anyway...).
I don't think stretching works... But if you do some sit-ups and stuff every day, it should be better eventually.

go to the doctor and MAKE SURE THEY GIVE YOU AN XRAY. around a year ago, i hurt my back tricking. i couldn't bend down, get back up, roll on my bed or do anything. i went to the doctor, but he said that he didn't know what the problem was. finally, a couple months ago, i went again and demanded to have an xray taken. turns out i have spondylolisthesis(a slipped vertebrae), and i'm not allowed to trick anymore.
no one on this forum can properly diagnose your back problem. go to a doctor.

i have the same pain. i havn't been able to trick for the last 3 months.
doctors gave me an xray as well, and i have spondylolisis - which is less serious than blaha's spondylolisthesis. basically there is a fracture in my vertabrae - which will take a while to heal
get this pain checked out, you don't want to screw over your lower back. lower back is important. if it hurts too much now, don't stretch it much either, just rest, because you could be doing further damage to your vertabrae, instead of helping your back tendons/ligaments.

Yea everyone here seems to think stretching is a magic cure but it will not heal an injury in the slightest.
If the problem affects your every day life, which it does, get it checked by a doctor. I'm glad two people on this forum have the presence of mind to recognize the severity of low back injuries. If you do not go to the doctor I hope one day your injury compromises the arteries and nerves of your lower appendages.

i got this when i was first learning sideswipes. my left back would hurt every time i landed one [my left side] basically they were to low and every time i land i would get massive pain. my cure was to get my raiz higher, then i made my side swipe higher. now im all good.

Im guessin its because we all had similar issues but not as serious as a slipped vertabrae. So we try to provide the ways we healed our injuries.
But i guess if its something like that theres no simple cure, go to the Doctors to get it checked

Totally agree, go and get your back seen.
I actually have the same problem. But i only have the pain on my lower right side. It usually comes after doing lots of wheel kicks. But after resting for a couple of days it goes away.

same here... but it usually comes back when I start training again, if I haven't been resting for three months or something.

I understand but stretching is not a cure all. Back injuries are rarely muscular injuries. Even if it was muscular, stretching does not do much to help the injures area heal under normal contexts (as evidence to the two posts above me--their injuries are either a. still injured or b. not healed properly.)

Was out of training for 2 months because of a similar case. My lower back was killing me, the muscle tissue or ligaments were damaged. I went to take an x-ray and the doctor analysed me but didn't find anything. It finally naturally healed last october. Don't quit all forms of excercise, weight lifting and basic kicks helped me stay fit, I concentrated on martial arts for a while until I was fit enough to trick. Try massaging your muscles and with ice cubes, sounds crazy but it worked for me haha.
