ok.. i've currently been experimenting with new stuff such as cart>masterswipe,
-pop3>w/t>C7
-hook>w/t ( forgot the name mix between a 1990 and an arashi swipe and a scoot>s/t

so any way i've seen people do cart>GMS along with cart>w/t's.. so i figured i'd try them out.

so i try a few of each and realize I'm getting no height.. [VIDEO WILL BE POSTED LATER]

so my question to you trickers is.. how the hell do you get good/ decent height in your cart>GMS and cart>w/t's?

reach and extend your body/arch before flipping or wrapping that's help get height

isn't a GMS sideways? how would arching help that? reaching ok but i still feel like i get very little momentum.. most of mine turn into big diving masterswipe crashes

Do your cartwheel as fast as hell, and then go up and stall it a little bit and kick through, like in a sideswipe but upside down.

Since when are sideswipes not sposed to be upside down.

For GMS=Do your best to do a "gymnastics style" cartwheel so that your leg can swing farther before you hit the point in which you cant force your leg higher. Time it with your jump, A GMS feels like an arial to me. I only recently learned how to do them well so i was in the same boat as you a week or so ago. but a GMS can be set like a flip, only sideways (sideflip) so do the same thing, set it as a sideflip and then crank over, when you got it try Grand Master Moonkick, thats a fun one and when you have to torque over harder it makes your GMS easier when you dont hook at the end of it. But make a conscious effort to not crank over right away. set it a bit.

W/T=(starting with W/T full was easy for me) W/Ts are pretty goofy when you start learning them. because it feels like theres no way to get momentum but once you get the feel of using your non take off leg for momentum, you can gain power like a well done S/T. Try it from a cartwheel, add a butterfly twist entrance so that you get some {flat spin} momentum. When you cartwheel, get it done fast and stand up out of it as much as possible. Keep your chest up as you take off and pull your non take off leg around you like your pulling for an Atwist. When your doing W/T full, its like a tricker full, its cheated by like a quarter to a half depending on how you do it. but anyways, Dont half ass this move, thats where your gonna eat shit and hurt your ankles or something, land on both feet when your getting used to it and then land on one after your comfortable. It takes some getting used to but if you can cart full, you can W/T full, its the same move just with a {swing through [around] your body}. wierd concept but essentially, thats what it is. Good luck!

Ohh this is helpful. im gonna try wrapthrus again when im fresh. i almost landed one, but it felt so awkward i stopped. Also, i can cartwheel w/t webster but not that easily, are they important?

Sideswipes aren't upside down lol
They're horizontal, hips above the head, the "upside down" I'm talking about is like this | , head pointing at the ground

have never tried to do one but it could help you get the idea of a w/t but probably wont help for a w/t full, im not sure cause i have never tried it. :punched:

W/T full is another one of those moves that hard to lear but easy to do when you have learned it. some moves are hard as shit regardless but not W/T fulls. It was my bail move for a long time. Put up a video when your trying, we'll walk through it for sure.

hmm, last i checked they were suposed to hover around the 45 degree of inversion marker. but a horizontal "sideswipe" is just a laydown 540, nothing more, there has to be some form of inversion in a sideswipe to make it a sideswipe. If not, then its just a laid back 540 or a bad attempt at a sideswipe.

well I said that the hips should be above the head, that's inversion haha

thank you very much Mr.Vail.. this is exactly what i was looking for :good: the thing is i cannot cartfull.. i feel much more comfortable doing w/t's , but what your saying is just train w/t's and with time i'll become used to the feeling?

and also my GMS i'll try out of a gymnast aerial that already sounds better, the feeling of my leg sort of tripping me and then jumping felt really dumb.. thanks man i'll record it and let you know how it went..

Yeah, basically. If you've done it 100X a day for 3 weeks and its still all jacked up then maybe theres an issue but when you did your first full, or cork or something, it was akward right, thats how w/t full was for me at first. but getting cartwheel full will probably help, you might wanna work on both at the same time.

And the GMS thing, if you have a lot of flat spin from a wind up or goofy cartwheel then your gonna have a rough time getting a good set because your swinging leg will get caught by your other leg or you'll end up doing a W/T sideswipe/Arial kinda thing, but yes, definatly film it and post it. then we can go from there.
