Yes tricking will help you make more friends with dudes, if you want ladies learn how girls work. BUT I'll share a quick story just cause I thought this was kinda funny:

So I am a 21 year old man, needless to say I spend a fair amount of time around bars on the weekends. The other night I'm out with friends from my work having some drinks and we were at a strip club (my work is awesome and we do whatever we want) so 2:00am rolls around and we head out because ya have to (for young'ns or people who don't know 2 is "last call" when there is no longer any alcohol served and everyone must exit.) Now, keep in mind we've just been consuming alcohol in front of naked girls for a little over 2 hours and suddenly the streets are littered with faces of like-minded individuals. This seems like an opportune time to make new female friends. My "boss" mentions flips and I do a cartwheel full. A crowd gathers. Here's a quick series of events that took place right then:

Boss: "he does that shit anywhere, chicks love it."
Friend: "Really? Does he ever get hurt?"
Random guy in crowd: "HE DID A FUCKIN FLIP! DO IT AGAAAAAIN!"
Boss: "hell no, watch- do it again"
Me: *does gainer* *lands*
Random girl walking by: *grabs me, kisses me, continues walking*
Boss: "see."

Haha. I win. Turns out in the right situations, it comes in handy!

And true, no girls care about tricking. However, gymnastics seem to work better. Like in Dan's story, those are more or less gymnastics moves. If you do an impressive tricking skill, most people will just get confused rather than impressed...

Gymnasts don't get girls because it's considered by many to be a gay sport. Tricking doesn't get girls because it's not really known yet. Once tricking becomes more popular and chicks see it on TV and a more-so celeb status among pro trickers is built, girls, in general, will flock to it.
For example, when we do shows, girls are all over because alot of people saw it and it was the cool thing for the moment. Before the show, we can be tricking our asses off and girls think it's cool but there's not jocking- so to speak.
Tricking is cool to watch and people love to watch it, from any walk of life, but it's not the "cool thing" yet. Once it becomes "the cool thing" and an "in" sport, you can do a 540 on the sidewalk and a girl will come up to you and say, "excuse me do you trick? What team are you on? My name is... I love tricking... Could you show me how do that... Here's my number, give me a call sometime, etc.
