when i first started doing dl's i only felt it in my lower back and quads. it was a while before i felt my glutes firing
i still hardly feel any hamstring action, unless i do SL deadlifts
and unless your age is other than what you have down, im older than you

i only dead once in a while so i guess i just don't do it enough... but somehow i still benefit from them (tricking wise)
i guess i should actually get a routine then...

I experience the same on the deadlifts...is it the lack of proper technique or is my lower back just to weak? The real questions is: Should deadlifts train your lower back or not?
Deadlifts train your entire body. Where you feel DOMS is affected by both how susceptible you are to DOMS and if you use correct technique. DOMS from deadlifts can be pretty random for me, lumbar region, glutes or hams, it all varies.
I feel it equally in my lower back (the fascia), my glutes and my hams. You just have to focus on pressing your hip forwards, sort of. When the bar is past your knees, just try to push your hips forwards and tighten your glutes. You'll feel it.
I use my butt in 90% of the stuff I do, hahah.

scrape the bar up your shins to activate those hamstrings!!

Yea once the bar passes your knees you should actively squeeze your glutes. For me I have to consciously do this or else my glutes won't fire as hard.
Comrade, you must engage your glutes!!!
For the good of the communist party.

If you're more lordotic than the average person, you might need to work on posture a little (learn about keeping neutral pelvis). It's not a must though, some glute activation may be enough. Also.. yeah what everyone else said.

When I do deadlifts, I get sore in my lower back, glutes, hamstrings, and my fucking forearms. FOREARMS. Damnit.
