I have hardly ever done squats and deadlifts but my ups are okay, i thinks it due to basketball, tricking and tumbling.
Anyway ive been reading posts about gaining on your vertical and most of you are saying the key to more ups is a serious deadlift and squat training right?
I weight in at 86kg (189lbs)
Im 6ft
And i have a standing vert of around 22-28 inches ( I will try to get precise measurements).
First i wanna know what a deadlift is?
Second how would i go about the training.
Should i start light or start at my max?
How often should i lift?
Sets and Reps ?x?
And what should my target lift be, i heard something about twice your bodyweight is this correct?(380lbs)
Some things i have asked may seem abit noobish but its only because i am a noob when it comes to lower body training.

Google deadlift, you find something. you shoud be lifting around twice and a bit of your body weight, start light and build up to your max, maybr after a week or so, i deadlift twice every day of the week at my max (not on week ends) and it does help. but don't fool yourself you can not only deadlift to gain jump hight. you need to work the rest of your bod too.

if you're a member at a gym ask one of the trainers to teach you the correct technique
