what did you guys do when you were working on the basics and you just couldn't get that piece of shit 540. its just annoying. i know i can get it its just i don't have a camera and i can't see what the hell i'm doing wrong. i know exactly what i'm supposed to do but i'm spinning in the air and i don't see anything but the floor sky floor. what do you guys do when you got discouraged in the beginning?

just slow down and think things through. tricking shouldn't be something you get frustrated easily with. there's a billion things you could be having fun trying if something isn't working for you.

well i can't say i've never known how to progress. the one thing stopping me from doing so was being injured for so long.

whenever i have trouble with a trick i just try something else. not only is it frustrating you just end up building bad habits.

i forgot who said it but, "If a first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. No use being a fool about it."

Focus your anger into tricks that you can do well to make them fierce and more powerfull. Finding ways to vent that anger such as punching things or beating up random people will take your mind off of the frustrating tricks allowing you to get back to the drawing board and revise your approach to them.

at first you sounded like yoda "Focus your anger into tricks." If you think about it yoda is the shit at Tricking. crazy 1440s with a lightsaber. anyone ever count how many spins he does. lol i'm going to make that a thread. yoda Best tricker of all times. and for the beating shit up i already do that... i train MMA Jiu Jitsu and Maui Thai. i can put people to sleep but i do a 540.

Just don't try to force it. When I get stuck on a trick I keep trying different setups and techniques until something works. It'll click eventually. What you have to learn is that the basics are basics for a reason. They are easy! If 540s are hard for you, chances are its your technique and not your strength or physical ability. Focus completely on the technique and do the trick a little slower than normal. Using extra force is pointless if you don't know when/how to apply that force. If you REALLY get stuck post a vid and get somebody to critique it!

oh and please don't make that yoda thread...

I just keep doing what I do...getting over it doesn't take any special commitment. It just happens with time.
