Ok so I want to get my windmills down right? I have been trying the turtle freeze for like 15 times a day for the past month and can only hold it for like five seconds. Whenever I am trying to hold it I always fall back on my feet I never fall foward for some reason. Like I am not talented at tricking or anything but me and breakdancing is like, I am so bad at it haha.

Anyone else try to learn so basic bboying and fail miserably?

Skip that.

Work on doing the actual mill!

It took me about 1 week to get 2 mills in a row.

just learn some footwork and a cork!!! there you go, you're a cool breaker now. at least in the eyes of normal people.

bboying is pretty hard for me as well
i have no problems with turtle freezes unline you but flares are hard as hell for me to learn. it's not like tricking where you can just throw yourself in the air and hope for the best, in bboying you have to give 100% effort every goddamn round you flare/windmill/airflare/whatever

I can do 15 flares but I can't windmill, lol. In the end though, breaking just isn't as appealing to me so I haven't continued learning it.

it took me a year and a half to get anywhere in bboying.

practice footwork and freezes....everyone wants to jump right into powermoves. but even though powers cool...in a battle if your footwork isnt good or ur not on beat. you lose hard.

through footwork and freezes the strength for power moves come. their is a progression in bboying but people tend to skip it.

to get a turtle freeze i suggest working on ur abs and wrist stength.

also ive been bboying for 3 years on and off and i can barely do i flare and its a close legged flare. i can do plance's and airbaby's but with both hands on the ground. as well as the chair freeze and some other stuff.

my style is based around trickz as in tricking and power wit the planches..im trying to develop sumtin that more akin to kujo. but thats gonna take alot more strength since i can only do 3-4 plance push ups.

bboy takes alot of time. like people have said be patient.

It takes about two years to get decent at bboying. Alot more patience is needed than anything else I think.

breaking is alot like tricking, in the sense that while the moves take a certain amount of strength, technique is the most important part. just like you have to "pump" cheat 7's, for the windmill you kinda have to "draw circles" with your leading leg

Haha if its your main focus then practice practice, but with my Bboying skills i learn from Ferret ( jesse) it seems easier when you dont take it so serious. when your messing around/trying to do it at the same time, it'll come to you.

Abs. shoulders, and arms need to get strong. strong enough to hold you sideways... when you get up in the air your abs will feel it alot!
