View Full Version : Where do I start?
Hey!
First off, yes I did read the website and I did search on forums. Thing is I feel both of them are missing some vital answers that I need! I NEED THEM!
All right, so the down low, as the youngsters say, is that I'm 20, I've been a lurker for maybe 2 years, but didn't feel strongly enough to actually start posting or tricking, but recent set of boredom and discovery of physical exercise forced me to reconsider both.
No, I'm not fat, the opposite actually I'm fairly skinny. I started working out about a month ago, trying to get some muscle to just get me going, and just today I began developing flexibility.
But what a fuck kind of prerequisites do I need before I can say for sure that I will actually progress?! Like is there a benchmark sort of deal for jumping/endurance/flexibility etc?
Like I can jump on objects at around my chest height, and anything below my waist is a joke. I'm around 5'10" BTW, and 150 pounds. Fuck if I know how to translate that shit into metric, so yeah.
Like is that fucking enough? Do All I have to do now is just go out and fall on my ass 100 times just to get an areal on 101st?
Oh that's another thing, do I start of with an areal, or 360, or 540? Or are all of them the easiest thing you can do? Anything easier? Should I even start with something that's easier?!
Finally to round of this random rant (actually this is just the middle of the post), for dynamic stretching, should I do every exercise Juju listed in 3 sets with 12 reps, or do I pick and choose? Because ATM I'm nowhere near 10-15 mins, takes me 30-45 :(
If this post irritates you, then fuck you, and grow some balls. What a fuck kind of person gets irritated by internet?!
For everybody else, answer the questions, and I will provide bountiful hugs and kisses for all!

Just start tricking man. You already wasted 2 years with deciding whether you're ready to start or not.
Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that you think about conditioning, but unless you are extremely overweighted or sit in a wheelchair (in which case conditioning wouldn't bring much), there's no reason why you shouldn't start tricking right away and condition parallel to it.
Regarding the tricks i recommend you just try the basic tricks listed on the mainpage and see which are easier and more fun for you. Don't limit yourself by deciding to learn one special trick before you try another one.
Also having certain abilities concerning jumping, strength, flexibility and so on won't guarantee you fast results, they only help. For the beginning you don't need them to be above average, and understanding and learning the right technique is much more important.

don't get discouraged, just get out there and trick while you can. Start with a kip-up just like the rest of us (lol) and work your way up. Don't worry about getting in shape to start tricking, tricking will get you in shape

That depends on kind of skills you already have. I mean, if you've done absolutely nothing athletically, then you just might want to start by doing super-basic kicks and tumbling.
If all else fails, do a kip-up and call it a day.

HAHAHA wow your my hero LMAO you just told off legends of tricking that have been doing this like 7 years haha. Ok man haha fairly skinny, man you need to know that its tricking not powerlifting. 2 years man...... mmmm what i suggest is to tell us where you live so you can find a group to flip with that can teach you more..... see we can sit here telling you what to do first what can make you better, but if you train with people that already trick you'll learn alot faster then hearing from a post...... anyways post back and tell us what staTE Your from and about location......
oh yeah about that weight thing theres a guy on our team whose 17 or 18 and weighs about 115 and hes almost has a triple full down.......
PS wanna learn kicks and tricks.... you can go back to the home page thats not online community and watch some of Juji's tutorials, theres also club540.com which has video tutorials, or you can learn some stuff out of the tricking bible, just go to google type in sess. tricking bible.
Yeah I was looking around for people in Toronto, but aside from some gathering in 2007, I found nothing :(
But if there are some tricksters in Toronto (I KNOW THERE FUCKING ARE), where the hell do you train?

The first and most important thing any new trickster can do, is be polite and respectful of their elders (Tricking term, not age term).
When you become friends, then you can act however you want with them, but until then. Show it, and you will get it.

tornado kick = awesome sauce
:( Are there any tricksters in Toronto, specifically in the area around Steeles and Bathurst (Close to Finch Station)?
I really want to learn :D, so if you are in a close proximity please let me know by posting here! I promise to be fun, crazy and spontaneously burst into dance for seemingly no reason, as well as laugh at most awkward moments. Or just be shy and sit in a corner with wide eyes staring in disbelief. You know, whatever...

hmmm well i say Flowers is completly right. You seem pretty cool um so member no hard ass dont start shit thread because theres always gunna be people on here that are dicks. but try going into Gathering and meets or tip for tricks, and simply post.......... hey guys i'm relativly new to tricking. i wanted to know if theres any tricksters in the Toronto Area, and just put the thread ANY TRICKSTERS FROM TORONTO?!??!
Falling on my butt, even with grass there to soften the fall, still hurts :( OH AERIAL YOU CRUEL MISTRESS! What sucks though is it's fairly tough to point out exactly WHY I'm falling. It seems to be a combination of poor back leg raise and not enough jump in the jumping leg. Not to mention my arms usually go straight to preventing my face from eating dirt :(
Anyway...
