Hey guys. I just started a Brazilain Jiu Jutsu class and am planning on going five days a week. If I continue lifting four days a week (heavy strength work), tricking two days, and running a few times a week will I be overtraining? Will I just get used to it? I've never really worried about it before, but it seems like this might be a lot.
1 off day will prevent overtraining, together with lots of water and stretching.
Just dont lift 6-7 days a week and youll be fine dude.

Well, if you've been lifting weights and running that much for a long time, the BJJ shouldn't do much except get you tired/sore for the first few weeks.

That's what I was thinking.
Haha no, tendonitis, muscle fatigue, scrapes, bruises, etc. are all typical even when training BJJ twice a week. It's possible to survive on this routine but just take care not to get killed.

Too many factors for us to give you an answer.
BJJ can be very intense, especially when you first start out. But once you learn to relax and use technique it doesn't have to be such hard work.

I'll just see how it works out. Even if it is tough at first, I'll adapt.

Something I learned the hard way is that when training, the moment you feel the need to tap do so and make it obvious. You might be able to counter or just muscle your way out of it, but it's not worth the risk of hurting you joints, at least not during practice.
Also beware the common lie, "I'm a little injured, I'm only gonna use technique."
Just my two cents.
