Seems these 2 tricks are being used a damn lot lately as set ups for hypered kicks and kicks involving lots of spin. I don't know why but it seems like cheating. I much prefer a hook before a kick or something.

Anyway whilst I'm moaning I'll say I also dislike the amount of pure gym samps around. Get your hardcore asses out there in the wild.:juji:

Anyone else agree or am I just being a fag?

Hook to pop trick isn't very smooth. Or well, it can be, but mostly it looks a bit meh.

don't have much to input for the TD raiz and scoot part apart from to agree with you lol
but the gym sampler part is because it has only just started to get ok whether to trick outside without falling all over the place of getting rained on half way through the session...or get really cold lol

i haven't found that perfect grassy area, yet.

usually all soft soil or slippy mud or some gay shit, sticks / pebbles on the ground, angers me!

i think its akward like kyle's td raiz pop h12.. do you really need a td raiz to pull it off?

the td raiz, gives you mad power to push off. if you can control it then you will be able to give your kicks that extra "umph" i only use the scoot when do h 9's i find it give me a lil power.

i prefer cheat set ups.. they make moves look cooler, lets just face it haha.

pop h9 vs ch9.

pop 7 vs c7.

pop hyper 360(inside) vs 540

list goz on.

hmm, about the grass vs gym, i agree, but that's because most people live somewhere where there is snow half the year. And if i can choose by seing some crappy samps in snow (although i like seeing styff like that, but if it were too much of it i would loose inspiration) or a heavy gym samp i choose gym. But summer is coming now, so there probably be alot of grass samplers out soon ;)

and i can understand what you're saing bout how it's easier, cus it is, but i actually find it cooler to watch, maybe not scoots, but tdrayz looks cool in combos i think, my opinion though

Some might say that seems like cheating.
Like me!

Well I don't really care, I just like to learn everything without the aid of a hook or a scoot or a this or an overly long runup. If someone uses one, I don't care, good for them haha. It's a personal standard for myself.

When it comes to advanced stuff, Hyper 9s and maybe even Double Corks and all that jazz, sure why not. Oh well!

Being able to scoot or td-raiz isn't going to magically give you the ability to do these. They provide the momentum, you provide the technique. Although, it's more impressive when someone can bring it without those momentum building techniques. :swashy:

I do not really care about the fact that Scoots and TD Raiz are overused, although I do not really get how you get more power when you do such a move instead of a little step-in/run-up. I mean e.g. Scoot>popkick; you are very low to the ground after that Scoot and so, at least for me, it's a lot harder to spin around my vertical axis; I always spin out of control:tongue: But maybe if you can harness the power of the Scoot...

About too much gym samps; I totally agree!
Just today I commented on Team-E's new samp; I love their tricking but almost all their samplers are full gym samps and that really gets boring after a while. I just love the samps like Greenview, Jryst and Astrum for the beautiful grassy surroundings in which they are filmed. (The new samp I'm working on will be 100% grass too by the way)

But you guys are right; some people have only a certain amount of good weather a year, it's the same for me. About 5-6 months per year we can train outside and the rest of the year it's just too cold and/or too wet. But to return to Team-E; they live in freakin' Australia! Right on the equator! They have a desert! So they must have enough good weather to make a decent outdoor sampler, right?...

Still; it's everyone's own decision and some people just prefer the indoors above the beauty of the outdoors:smile:

*ends way too long post*

Scoots are sooooo damn useful for pop kicks.

with scoots you end up doing a backside trick which is why it feels so much easier than doing it normally... because there is less rotation. I totally agree with you haydyn, not so much with td raiz but im there with you on the scoot overusage recently

I quite like the look of td raiz to pop 900 hyper, and scoot to pop 900 looks cool I think. But thats just my opinion. But I personally don't think its like cheating, I think its just an alternative way to gain power. For instance, many people may say that spin hook...>aerial is cheating, but its just another way of gaining the power for the move. I think its just the personal taste and preference of the tricker.

I'm also getting a bit tired of seeing td raiz everywhere. But meh, it's all good.
