raiz improvements!

So basically raiz was the onyl trick type that I just didn`t udnerstand haha, I always did them wrong and they looked gay, but I`ve sussed it!

Cause the way I used to do it, was me *trying* to dip, but that word makes things WAY MORE COMPLICATED and ruins them hahaha.

Aha yeah I have some weird ideas for it, aside from the normal swingthroughs :wicked:

And normal swings too haha, but i`m goign to train it to just a normal tucked gainer for a while *personal reasons :wink:*

I learned a sideswipe the first day I figured this out :]

I`m goign to stop them for a while untill I get a raiz with huge roundkicks through them :smile:

By not thinking about any dip shite, or even treating it like a raiz.

I just did a sideflip with straight legs, from a cheat set-up haha.

Then it evolved from there.

Well I`m not sure if it`s exactly like that hmm I`ll try and explain a little more.

Actually yeah it is, you stand like you were going to 540 kick, so you step out turning sideways and kicking your leg sideways, with your eyes sideways, EVERYTHING SIDEWAYS it seems. Then you go into a sideflip and your eyes look over like a backflip, which makes you arch, without you even trying to/thinking about arching. Then you come round and it`s like COOL I did a raiz.

If you watch the vid, and think about what I just said, you`ll see what I mean :smile:

Well actually, you turn and drop your chest then turn into a sideflip.

Imagine you are standing next to a wall, with your shoulder touching it so you are looking along it.

You step out, and drop your chest slightly, then you turn sideways to face the wall, and you have to try and rotate around it front that position to get back onto your feet haha. So you would go sideways over then into a backflip hah.

Seeing as how 540s and Raizes are prereqs to Sideswipe, I figured that must mean a Raiz is like a Sideswipe only a tornado kick instead of a 540. Am I doing it right? And ideally, a Raiz shouldn't be completely upside down but damn near close like this guy performed?

it depends. in my opinion, the more upside down you are the cooler it looks, and its easier to swing through

tonight i landed my first raiz s/t gainer, and shortly after raiz s/t cork. and then there was a cheat 720 twist landed, and a couple tak9 attempts.

i've been able to raiz for a few months now, but couldn't swing through it. seeing you doing them motivated me to change my setup a little, and now s/ts are coming full blast
