Okay from what I been reading the sideflip is basically jumping up and then tucking, like the backflip, am i right?

I can do a backflip. I understand jumping up, tucking and flipping over. I don't get however, how the tuck works in flipping you over in a sideflip. I have tried it before, running, hop to the side, jump, tuck, but that's it, no flipping. When I try to shift my upper body to the side and then tuck, it doesn't really flip OVER ya know? It feels like I am just looking at the ground and then my legs move up by the side a little.

Can someone explain to me the physics of a sideflip exactly? Thanks.

well they are really simple look get a mate and run jump and tuck and roll over his back then get to the stage where you are clearing your mates back and then just remove your mate. :)

basically a sideflip has very little to do with the tucking motion. for a running sideflip i think about trying to dive over something sideways (kinda like a mission impossible type of shooting thingy). once i've riden it up to get my hieght, i initiate the flipping motion by pulling my arm (the one that is on the side of my body that is closest to the ground, in my case, the left arm) from its extended position to my hip and a kind of circular motion and i bring my knees up and slightly at an angle to the way im flipping. play with what works for you though man, i do it completely differently for sidesumis (as opposed to sideflips) so there are several ways to make yourself flip.
