I have exactly the same problem its like i always land on my side or not very neatly so whats the technique of getting your legs under yourself
Fearless
May-14-08, 10:00 AM
throw your arms UP hard then twist like you would in a backflip 360, but dont kick straight up, kick to the side like normal

I can only btwist s/t cork...
everytime i try j-step cork, i run into the same problem, feet don't go under me...
my btwist s/t cork gives me the rotation/momentum needed to land it, and i cant seem to mimic that momentum from j-step

I had this problem not so long ago. Arch ur back, try different setups.

Can you do good slant gainer flashes and fulltwists?

think of it as a slightly slanted gainer full, the more you invert it the more it becomes like a flip and the easier it is to land IMO

The key is inversion.
Think of it more like a gainerfull

I got something to show you then, hehe
Kick through more. And try to pull your chest up out of it like you would for a btwist. Very similar concept.

Corks can be done in many many different ways. Oldschool corks at little inversion if any.
The land standing up and ready to s/t I beleive inversion is the key.
I've never seen an oldschool cork s/t

would look pretty gay, but cant say for sure until we actually see it.

the best oldskool variations are those with kicks thrown in
"new school" is the way to go though haha

what do you mean by "easier to land"? I can land a cork that has almost no inversion to it. (almost like a 35 degree cork instead of 90 degree) Every time I invert I fall inverted.

no I was just going to show me falling from inverting. I try to throw a cork as horiztional as I can I alway end up inverting.
for those who don't know what it looks like (old school cork)

well i can gainer full so i should esentually be able to cork so should i just treat it like a slant gainer full and just start trying to get as horizontal as possible

what i do is i throw my leg up, and i "wrap around it"
thats the best way i can explain it

I have the same problem of getting my feet under me, i use a standing/cross setup(tried other setups unconfortable)... I cant slant gainer or regular gainer(no i wont get those) is it just a matter of getting enough air time/spin, and spottin the landing?

its just a matter of kicking your leg properly using this power to lift you up then you can land this moves efforteless
I'm in the same boat as everyone else here.
One thing i noticed yesterday was that many people kinda tuck at the end of the twist (while facing the roof) into a sort of sitting-in-a-chair position. Then once the last half rotation is made it looks much easier to land. The slowmo in Flowers tut shows this quite well
I think i'll try this and the inversion tip at gym tomorrow.

here masterj do a gainer, wait till ur upside down, spot the floor then twist
when it comes to physics, this method you should be able to land completely upright
mogwai
May-16-08, 06:35 AM
you feet will automaticly come back down if you get high enugh, but you need the time to complete 100% of your twist before this happens, so if you land when your twist is only 95% finnished you will no matter what land on your side
