Okay from what I seen of tutorials, they teach it such that it looks like a leaned back tornado kick, at least to me. But I am curious on how people do em so quick and fast and it ends up looking like a flash kick(to the back). How do I achieve that? I am trying to learn it such that it looks like a flip in the end. thanks.

I think you need to treat it like a backflip, for the raiz you are talking about.

I think of it as an "invert" type move , much like an aerial , with the hips over the head and what not .

It's an aerial over the back of your shoulders rather than the front.

Okay... an ACTUAL raiz is a bkick except not chest down. The raiz everyone is use to these days is inverted. Hence, aerial over the back rather than front.

going to the side vs going for invertedness. plus if u pull your trailing leg around it speeds it up and whips ur trailing leg.

when most people go for a raiz they try to 1. invert. 2.leg their trailing leg drag in almost a flash kick kinda set up..ur not trying to pull the leg in but leg it drag and have space.

YES it's basically a flip for the love of God ahahaha.

I can't be bothered to explain it any more, but erufukami explained it pretty well. It's like an Aerial of a sorts.

Is an Aerial a flip? In all basicness: yes. Technically: Umm sorta, more of just something inverts and uhh, flips around? Ok YES YES FLIPS FLIPS FLIIIIIIIIPS!

lol lets be specific...a good raiz is basically a flip. a bad raiz look like u hopping around like a retard.

Hmmm looks like people have pretty much already covered this. For what you're looking for here, yes, raiz is a flip. However there's a lot more to this move than most people know, Erufukimi touched on it and soon there will be a specific line drawn between traditional raiz, invert raiz, and rise. Until then, treat it like a backflip or whatever else people are telling you...

i think that high floaty raizs are alot less inverted just from watching many clips, they look smoother and slower, while lower raizs are very quick and inverted.
honestly as long as it looks good and works the way it was intended in the combo i dont think it matters, learn it both ways if you're really worried.
