It was more of a back kick tbh, hips weren't turned so it wasn't a hook for sure :) I'd call it a slant gainer. Or well actually, I'd call it a gainer.

to me a moonkick is what you're doing but with an added hook (trail leg)

I'd say when performing a pure "Gainer" you run nothing but forward in a straight line and gainer flash must have a noticeable kick. What ever we call it the kid did good.

The only thing about it is that "cheat gainer" isn't really a valid term. "Slant gainer" is the main title for it, or DPT calls it "Pseudo gainer", another fitting move.

you want to throw a hook kick on the end i guess

just think about 3 stages: chamber -> kick -> rechamber

so it'll look like an actual kick

Ok slant gainer.. I guess I've seen to much of the toronto trickers. Can somebody show a good example of chambering of a hook kick, I have almost no MA experience.

it's the same as a side kick

aka same as a front kick with your base foot pivoted 180 degrees (heel facing the target) and your knee more towards your chest

Ok I edited this post cause I get it. My question now is; Are heel-kicks in tricks really noticed by trickers? I think I've seen Anis do some sick moves where he releases a hook kick after having been holding on to it in mid-air.

Edit: If I do a 360 crescent, but the kick goes diagonally from up to down with heel towards target; would that be a 360 heel-kick?

Shit I'm confusing myself why would anybody do a hook-kick when they can heel kick? Does that small contraction of the hamstrings give extra momentum 'til impact?

It gives the kick a more flashy look right? And spinning hook kick can hit your opponent in the back of the neck :P.

all this is quite confusing im always been confused about a gainer because i always used to think i could gainer (a backflip fowards) or taken of one foot) but its like ive always landed both feet at the same time so now im trying to combo like Hook - Raiz - gainer (and this is my problem i cant swing through) its like i can gainerfull and cork but i can never land swinging through its so hard wats the deal ??????

actually im just gunna make a thread as i cant find a good old thread and if you find one you proved me wrong lol
