i'm having trouble getting my hook kick nice and high
any tips???

You're kicking too early on the second kick. Wait until your hips are properly set for the kick and blam! Looks like it's going to be a really nice jackknife though.

Jackknifes are hard....I would give you advice but mine suck hahah.....
Keep training them tho!
yeah, i've been able to 540 for like 3 years
but i still can't do a proper jacknife >_<

Work on flexibility too, I cant tell for sure, but it looks like your not very flexible either the way your leg bent when it tried to stretch up.

use your arms for torqueee after the first kick, dont just let them hang there.

i think thats more from the hip not being in the right place for the kick more than lack of flexability. i have the same problem with my jacknives, and im pretty flexible

Keep your visionary focus on your target as your kick comes up. You want to keep pulling and all that, but don't let yourself drop. Don't look down, try to stay slightly upright, at least with your head upright.
Don't be afraid to wait for the second kick. You won't fall and die if you throw the second kick out too late. In fact, you may want to practice just hardcore 540s, practice practice practice, and practice spinning around late then throwing the kick out. This is good, instead of starting off with the kick too early, then trying to push it back and make the kick come out later. Usually people don't really do this, and instead just compromise the technique of their first kick and try to throw out a fast second one.
But if you do a 540, then do a hook before landing, it will be efficient and easy. Wrap with your arms into the second kick, turn with your head into the second kick, and do all of these after the kick of the 540 has reached it's peak.

snap the 1st kick out then quickly re-chamber it and turn over your shoulders and hips spot your target then kick, the faster you can finish the 1st kick the more time you have to get the 2nd kick turned over and out making it look hella nice but make sure that the 1st kick is compleltly visible not just an un-bent pump in a C7 really kick it hard to give you the momentum to lift you then take it and turn it.. drilling helps the most for me on this trick..

omg this guy is dope, honestly, I don't know who said it but just spot and wait till u r hips turn over. experiment with waiting and you WILL have a dope one !

when you go for your first kick [the round kick] get the leg that you will hook with nice and high before you even kick, just lift it up as high as you can, turn your shoulders over and then spot your target then unleash devastation =]
edit: also by lifting up your leg a and aiming it up with your target before you round kick it will help keep your body in line with your target
