this is something ive been curious about, i cant do an aerial fron a step, i do that cute little skip thing into it, can that be considered a combo trasition?

a simple example: if I kip-up_frontflip_(do my skip thing to aerial)

I this still a combo or does the skip separate the aerial from the combo.
im working on aerials from a step believe me, but im just wondering if that skip can be considered a transition?

thanks:juji:

Well in my opinion, two tricks combined with eachother are a combo, if theres a special transition or you're going directly into the next move doesn't matter, BUT you should keep in mind that tricking is supposed to look fucking awesome and that should be your goal when doing combos, you want to do combos because they look better and more interesting ( and of course because they're fun)

So in conclusion : If you feel like it, then go for it, film it and then decide if you like it and if you think it looks good.

( these are just my thoughts )

id say depends on how fluid it all was, straight aerials can be hard to combo

you could always do kip > front > crescent kick > aerial

i can finally aerial from a step now so things will get easier but the problem is that after like 5 of them i couldnt do it anymore and had to go back to skipping

you were probably tired and couldn't put enough effort into doing them without the added momentum. just keep practicing

added footwork isn't usually great during combos but if you can make it look good then just do it :good:

I don't think anyone's going to tell you what is and what isn't a combo. This isn't gymnastics, we're not anal about point systems, but it would show how skilled you are in a trick to be able to transfer the momentum of a front flip into an aerial. You just probably need to learn to step out of a front tuck instead of landing on both feet and drill your aerials until you can freakin do one out of walking.

I just learned b-twists and I can't combo them very well without adjusting the spacing of my feet between tricks but I'm still working on them until I can easily pull a b-twist out of any stance.
