During gymnastics season at school they had some mats set up in the gym and lucky enough, I had two gym classes. I started experimenting and before the trimester (yeah, trimester) was over I was able to do wall flips, back flips, and round-off back flips. I've tried a bit more since then but haven't really expanded too much. Now I've recently come across this site and realized there's so much more!
Now sure, I could practice on grass. I plan on practicing in my back yard a lot. But I would really like those mats again. It was heaven. I live in a decent small town, there are I think two "gyms" here, and I know for sure that one won't have anything.
So any ideas? Is there an alternative to gymnast mats? Maybe I could build my own? Or should I just stop whining and stick with grass? :-p
