They were at a gathering i think.
In England that Simon went to.
The girls in my class were talking about it and simon told me he's met them or something, lol. They fancied simon after it. And they were hot.......
NAN on Norways got tallent was soooooo much cooler. haha.

Compared to the other talent show teams, it was lacking abit, in length and entertaining value, and personally I'd wait with ripping off the shirts till abit later, but thats just me. Really nice sync., and nice form and flips, overall, really good :)

They were a lot better on the semi final. Good amount of cheese to appeal to the masses also. finished with a nice loser :) fair play to them I hated their first set.

It was somewhat disappointing to be honest...only a few short tricks, plus everyone was cheering when they weren't even muscular haha.

But, props to them for getting out their and braving the masses and all that.

I'm interesting in seeing their other performances though, I have no doubt they have more good material.

the breakdancer was better, even though he was amateur.

well they're not as gay looking as Team Sideswipe in America's Got Talent with their focus on making it look more like dance

I liked their c720s, gainers, and hand strikes...oh yeah, and obligatory round off-flash kick XD

so you're calling ben brown and steve terada gay?

yeah.... good move :bad:

these guys clearly watched sideswipe and decided to steal the shirt ripping from them.

Actually Andy, the Sideswipe team that was on America's Got Talent was Matt Mullin's new Sideswipe team full of dancing tricking boy scouts. Which is what Kou was talking about.

The performance to which you are most likely thinking of is Sideswipe back when it was Mullins, Terada, Brown, on 30 Seconds of Fame.

Who cares?
I wanted George Sampson to win and he did.

Comparatively, no. But he was more determined than the other contestants to win.

Yea, my bad, I should have specified. I mean they were really good and had perfect corkscrews and kicks but their routine and style just wasn't as appealing to me as New Age Ninjas in Norway's Got Talent or this Team Strike in Britain's Got Talent.

i dont know why but i dont really think of tricking as a talent.

i think its just impressive as fuck to the masses, cuz they probably think its so hard haha.

oh no... not the 'determination is the best thing' topic.

Being determined to do something doesnt make you good at it, nor should it give you leeway to achieving the end result when you're not good enough.

I always get mixed feelings seeing tricking on TV like that. It's like "hey, that's cool, it's out there, people are seeing it!" but then at the same time it's like "hey, this is my cool secret underground sport that I can do too, hey look at me too, don't watch tv, they're doing simple tricks, although I won't admit they're doing the tricks much better than I can, look at meeeeeee".

is that just me?

I never said it did.
He is pretty damn good for a kid his age and the semi-final performance he did was mediocre for him. Yes, there will always be someone better than him, but so what? This kid entered last year, passed the first round but didn't get into the semis so he spent the year practicing just to come back and do it again this year.
He has a goal and tried hard to get that goal. Too many people don't set goals or set them and don't achieve them, and if they fall into either of those categories then they're not even on parr with a 15 year old break dancer. Pretty poor on their part if you ask me.

Yea, otherwise we'd have a bunch of Art MD's running around claiming to be the hottest thing ever because they're so-called "willpower" ahaha.

man, i tell you what....

if artMD went on one of those shows and did his crappy tricks on stage and danny graham got up and pwned him in front of the judges etc on national television... that'd be just priceless.

i dno his name but the blond hair guy's gainer barely even gets inverted. and the other dude messe dup his cork not very slyly.

hahaha exactly the same here. i don't like seeing tricking on tv, i think i'm kinda jealous or something and i don't want the masses to see tricking much because it's my special little passion or something haha. i always calm myself by thinking i'm better than them anyway which is not always true. i want to turn off the tv but i feel i'm kinda forced to watch the whole thing haha

i told my girlfriend that strike were shit and i then proved it by doing exactly what they did, minus failure.

also did anyone else watching that realise how sad the whole of britain is?
booing negativity.
chanting "final", as if they had some control over it.
i hated it.

Wow, okay, nevermind what I said about them earlier, this Semi-final act by them was actually REALLY good! Granted I saw where one of them messed up and lost sync for just a moment, they really put together something entertaining with those sound affect timed strikes and poses, personally made me lawl

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=mwbqq9TDhHU

but yea, I too have mixed feelings about putting tricking out there in the spot light. to me, it's a cool underground sport where people are just generally trying to push the limits of their body's abilities every time but only to come out every once in a while to make a movie look badass or to totally pwn a talent show. I'm no Steve Terada, but even my friend and I got 1st place in a dinky little talent show at my university. throw in a backflip and half the audience will wet themselves. but tricking is special to me because it's so incognito one moment and then BAM they surprise the shit out of everyone when they're least expecting it. Like ninjas. Yea...just like ninjas...

the shot of them in the gym doing bicep curls was funny too.

I agree their semi final performance was pretty good, it was all basic, but it was very well choreo'd and they set the music up like old kim do form songs were with sound effects and all that jazz. I didn't like their audition or their Final performance as in the audition it was a bit pooh and the final didn't improve on the semi in anything other than difficulty of tricks and then he fell over doing a cork.

Jun-02-08, 06:48 AM
lol yea the semi-final performance was good...the rest seemed pretty average. Although i'm surprised they managed tog et all the way to the final :S.

Rook
Jun-02-08, 02:35 PM
haha, yeah, it's entertaining to an extent, but like simon says, profoundly irritating when the audience just responds automatically to the slightest bit of criticism, even when it's totall justified and necessary.

and the judges totally fucking milk it EVERY TIME.
