New Friday Competition: XMA Tricks Battle – Elimination Round
This competition is open to all registered competitors. It will be on stage Friday night following the regular competition. To compete you must: be a registered competitor, a black belt and be available to compete in the XMA Tricks Challenge on stage Saturday night. This is an individual competition and there will be divisions for youth and adults. There is no charge for this competition, so get ready for the hottest tricking showdown to hit the sport karate world. There will be some great prizes including cash and one Grand Prize for the winner Saturday night. More details will be available on the US Open web site in 1 week. 1st Place - $1000 CASH + $10,0000 KONO MAG Photo Shoot
2nd Place - $500 CASH
3rd Place - $250 CASH
FREE to All registered black belt competitors. Two Divisions - Youth & Adult. Individual competition only. No teams. No props. No weapons. No costumes. Must wear full uniform.
FREE footage of the elimination rounds will be available to all competitors for personal usage.
Competition Format: FIRST TO TWO
ROUNDS: Flip of a coin will determine who goes first. Competition will be executed battle style like a sparring division by rounds where competitors will take turns executing their tricks. Competitors get one turn per round and are allowed one re-do for any missed trick/combo. Competitors will alternate going first for each round. One point will be awarded to the winner of each round. First competitor to two points wins the battle and moves to the next round.
RULES: All tricks regardless of discipline will be categorized into POWER MOVES or COMBOS categories. Power Moves are any single or double trick technique. Three (3) techniques or more performed are Combos. The first competitor of each round will set the tone by performing either a Power Move or Combo. The second competitor must match the category by performing a trick in the same category for his/her turn. This will allow judges to compare moves to moves and combos to combos. There are no limits and tricks from all disciplines are allowed including: martial arts, dance, breakdance, acrobatics, gymnastics, parkhour, free running, etc. No props will be allowed.
XMA Tricks Battle Finals: The final 6 competitors will go head to head with former XMA Tricks Battle Champions Matt Emig and Steve Terada in the US OPEN Night of Champions to be televised by ESPN2. Good luck!
