Its just something that you're never going to conquer, never something that you can sit back and say "yep, i can do everything now" because its impossible.

I guess i just enjoy seeing how far I can push myself, im pretty selfish in that one of the main reasons i trick is so that when i make a video, people will think "fuck, thats awesome!" , however to be honest i'd rather inspire than impress any day.

Thats why I enjoy watching videos of relative beginners, the people that have worked fucking hard to get even the basic moves, it motivates me because I should be working just as hard as they do.

At the moment I can't really train, but I trick mostly to complement my capoeira training with the acrobatics. Other than that, it's fun, and the feeling of landing something new is like "RAAAAAAAAWRRRRR AWESOME", and I love that feeling :smile:

I had a 5 year episode with lyme disease (2nd grade to 7th grade) and it completely wiped out my "carefree" childhood. I was fat, out of shape, and always in pain. I always wanted to be athletic, and envied greatly those who were. So as soon as my Lyme specialist said that the Lyme was in remission (essentially gone) and i was free of all the symptoms, I vowed to make up for lost time in some way or another and to be the absolute best I could be. I have really done so, gaining a blackbelt and "Sensei" status in Kenpo Karate and of course, tricking. Tricking my way of making up for lost years, and it makes me feel doubly alive every single time.

I've only been tricking for a total time of like 14-15 days now, so I will rather use my parkour when I done that regularly as a comparison. When I done it, I trained alone which is the same as my tricking. I go out, I warm up, I drill basics and various movements over and over and over again until I decide I'm happy enough to try newer things or harder moves.

There is no thrill from it, tricking/parkour doesn't and never really has interested me to actually do. I more so do it because well, when I go to my first gathering whenever it is, there is one feeling I want that I always see in videos and maybe a reason I should train harder.

Whenever I watch videos, almost everyone has one stage where they do a move that pushes their own personal boundries, whether its someone doing a double b twist or someone just doing a cork, so long as everyone knows that particular person is pushing themselves everyone around them goes mental.

One day I want to go to a gathering and do something that would get that, and I don't mean just where 2 people are like OHHH and someone else claps, I mean where the whole place just goes ballistic over it.

That's a reason for me to trick now, and I wish I could find more time to trick, I want to be someone who has that one day =] After that I'll want it again, but it'll mean having to push myself even further for it.

That is an amazing feeling, had it recently when i landed a cork after about 1 million attempts at my first gathering....

It's weird... tricking lately has really just become a reason for me to wake up in the morning. With me about to start my third year in college, I've lost most of my life motivations and I really don't even want to study any more. However, tricking, and trying to get better (even though it's taken me forever to improve slightly) just allows me to wake up, forget all my worries and cares, and just focus on landing this new trick or cleaning up this old one. It's also recently gotten me more fit and made me change my eating habits, so tricking is life.

I trick, because it's a part of me. It was already there when I was born, and this site and its forum members greatly awoke tricking interest in me.

Most credit goes to my (tricking) friends though, to be with them and "grow" with them is what keeps me motivated. The "flying" sensation is just the cream on top of tricking.
