This is a challenge to anyone who feels up to it! Post your own vids, how much weight can you flip with?
Great training technique for explosion, speed and height.
(I'm up to 2x20lbs now but didn't have a cam)
Here is the you tube link, the embed option is not working : (

I think a weightvest would make much more sense.
It's impressive anyway.

I've trained backtucks with a 10 lb weighted vest, but that was pre-knee injury.

I'd be nervous about clanking myself with the weights. Good work though.

The thing I'm thinking though is that with dumbells, you're not REALLY weight yourself down. I mean, it's harder for you to swing your arms up, but with your arm swing, you also get more momentum upwards and once you're in the air, it's your body that rotating, not your arms, so it affects it minimally. The hardest part of that, I think, would be not hitting yourself with the weights.

I thought the same thing, about the weights adding rotation once in the air. It doesn't really matter though, it's quasi-insane anyway and I sure as hell would die.

It's impressive, but a more accurate gauge of weight would be to attach the weight to your center of gravity, IE a vest or something.

Hahaha!
Dude, you killed me with that card :(
Cool!
My friend tried russian fronts flips once with some weight, and actually got some extra height.
It really affects the rotation. Itīs harder to swing your arms up, but as you take of with a powerfull swing it actually gives some extra power.

Thanks for all the comments. It really can give you more height!
I encourage people to try it, but BE CAREFUL you don't BASH yourself with the weights. thats the hardest part i think. I want to go up to 25s, but i will need to fashion myself some safety padded dumbells...
