a few days ago i was attempting an aerial and i did this ugly thing.:worry: It looks more like a bkick than anything else, but i did it from a hop takeoff. i looked alot at others doing this move as always, and read many tutorials, then looked at mine. obviously i saw, my torso is not straight, and i dont turn it over.:dead:
i dont really get how to do that, and other tutorials have told me the leg twists you around, some say its the arm, i really dont know, so if you have anything to help me please let me know.
If you think it will come by just drilling this ugly thing alot, just post
":wicked:go drill you fuckin noob!:wicked:"
(happy 4th btw!)
thanks for all the help, :good:

P.S that towel is there cus my yard his hard as a rock and bumpy too. I cut my toe on something when i did these things before i actually filmed them, so i needed something to be there to keep my from doing it again.
P.P.S i know that aerial and bkick are completely different, and i am talking gymnastics aerial here, so dont get me wrong it wasnt supposed to be a bkick.... it just was. (HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE I glued a spoon to the wall behind me!!! HEHEHEHEHEHE)
(its actually moss that happens to look alot like a spoon)
:wink::wink::wink::wink::wink::wink::wink::wink::w ink::wink::wink::wink::wink:

it doesnt look like your c.w is strong enough, cause your hips are not going over your head. try to get your hips over your head.

I would say dip more, but it feels like much more is needed to be said.

i really think i need to figure out how to get rotation, cuz the rotation will give my leg a clear path of travel over my head. what do you guys do to get rotation?
is it the legs job, the arm? i dont really understand the whole rotaion part.
i know how its supposed to be, and where to rotate, i just dont understand what i use to create and maintain rotaion in the air, if you understand anyhting i'm saying...
would it help if i arched my back a little and opened my shoulders?
Even with the spin setup, or hook kick or whatever, try and align yourself straight when going for an aerial. Don't be so slanted.
Other than that it was good.

right well first you already know you arnt aerialing so lets change your aerial to something you like :)
. Well when i aerial i step foward on to my right leg and dip my torso.
. I then kick my left leg up hard really hard, like so (if someone was stood right next to me there head would be kicked the fuck off) hard.
. IMPORTANT just after i start rotating foward i turn my whole torso from the hips 180degrees around.
. BREAK IT DOWN)()()( so im kicking my left leg hard and back, jumping off my right leg thats in front, turning my toso counter clockwise and force that kicking leg up and then land.
STUDY THIS consentraight on the kick and the torso.
IM kicking and twisting HARD HARD HARD

yea these were my bad aerials, i meant for you to comment on the thread called "take your pick and help out please" cuz my new aerials were in that video. but thanks anyways. are you twisting using your arms to get around? i dont really understand what does the twisting. thats my main problem besides not getting my legs straight (will fix itself with practice)
the twist will come automatically as you think cartwheel and spot the ground.

Drill the ever-loving shit out of your cartwheels.
With the cartwheels jump into them, don't just laze into them, lazing wont help with the aerial.
You will know when your ready to do a gymnast style aerial.

Lift your back leg hard and STRAIGHT behind you.
From what I can see from *most* of your attempts so far, aerials, cartwheels, 1-handed, you are doing it too much with the "side-to-side" idea, unintentionally or not. An aerial is actually a straight and forward kind of move. By thinking about doing it side-to-side you lift your leg sideways - as in the leg itself is being pulled sideways rather than straight behind you. it does not to go straight over your head. this locks your hips up in a way that makes it look like a bkick.
Lift your backleg STRAIGHT BEHIND. as if you were facing forward and lifted your backleg straight. by lifting it straight behind and as hard as you can, it will go over your head. this way, it actually frees up everything else, making the 180 rotation natural and easy without any thought - just as your cartwheel should. Hope this helps.

thanks.
and one more tips for a bit more height and power.. i see that on some of your aerials you are placing your front leg directly below you forgetting everything you (should) know about blocking... get it way ahead of you.. helped me a lot! looking good though..

Just drill your cartwheels to fucking perfection, then try it again.
I hate drilling cartwheels... as juji sais.. Cartwheels are gay.

That's just stupid.
nah. cartwheels are gay and boring.. but way to neccesary :(

Cartwheels aren't gay, they're a quite necessary prerequisite, if you want clean aerial variations.
Never said you didn't need em.. just saying I hate em (at least drilling em..) i use them a lot before backflips.. or thats more arabians but w/e almost same shit. Point is I need them but i hate drilling them.

well.. you should only drill them to the point where they're almost perfect, and as it's a cartwheel it shouldn't really be that hard haha
