I usually use the "light weights, high reps" approach when it comes to weight training, but yesterday I started usuing heavier weights with lower reps. Now I'm really stiff and sore. What should I do? :eh:

Why would you do that? Of course you are sore if you just started lifting some weights.

It's because you are doing something unfamiliar to the muscles, which decrease the prevalence of DOMS (The pain you're feeling, DOMS stands for Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness). If you keep training this same way you will likely notice that you will be feeling less soreness after each session. There's really nothing that can be done to avoid it, just keep in mind that it will get less severe if you keep training this way.

That soreness is you getting stronger. You have to tear muscle for it to grow back stronger and it does ache for a while. It gets better after a week or so though. Give yourself a couple of days rest then do it again. Lifting light weights lots of times doesn't tear the muscle so it doesn't hurt the next day and neither does it need to grow stronger if it can already lift the same weight over and over comfortably.
