Why do guys who only have abs persist on hating on guys who have ripped everything except for abs?
Is it jelousy or .. I dunno
Whats your guys take on the abs? Pointless, or pointfull to a degree?

My current goal is a 'six pack', if for no other reason then it gives me something to work towards.
As far as what other people look like, I really don't give a shit, as long as they're happy with their physique.
So to me personally? "Pointful". I do see that sometimes, though; scrawny ab guys with legs as wide as my wrist ripping on the guys squatting 600lbs. just because they don't have "an eight pack" or something haha.

Mark Rippetoe responded with this when someone was talking about not wanting to lose their six pack:
"Well, okay. I think you fail to understand some very fundamental things about training and getting strong, but as long as your abs are showing and you're having fun, everything is fine."
I share the opinion.
Not to mention that getting a six pack, or a low enough bodyfat percentage for your abs to show, is extremely easy.
Train for performance, not looks i say

People who train for performance looks better than people who train for looks, but that's just because they have legs.

People that get cocky because they have ripped abs, but can't even squat their bodyweight are idiots. I wouldn't let it bother you. It's just the way thing are.

Without abs you would have collapsed by now haha.
Everyone saying train for performance not aesthetics, a lower bodyfat helps with performance generally.
However if you're not too bothered by it it doesn't really matter.
Also having visible abs doesn't make you strong, despite what many people would think.
Having visible abs is also attracting to women, which is never a bad thing.

i work my abs for strength/mass [holding a 30 dumbbell while doing various exercises], which helps out with various stabilization needs, while in turn since it is a mass building exercise my abs become more visible which isn't a bad thing.
