View Full Version : Has anyone ever fought MMA?
I'm just curious if any of you guys have actually fought in an official MMA sanctioned match. Octagon or ring. With 4 ounce gloves or something.
If so, what was you're experience like? Were you a double 0 class?

Yeah I have. I was so good they had to ask me never to do it again because if I carried on there would be no competition.

I used to trick with this guy Ken. I think he's k1stone on TT. He's 5-0 I believe, and he started fighting last Fall. He corks after every win:

I really hope you'll survive towels:eh:

I'm 180 lbs. I'm not sure what class that puts me in. For this exhibition I think they are just trying to match as close as possible without strict parameters.
I have a 78 inch reach and I'm tall.
Holy crap...towels..in mma?!
God I hope your a grappler.
I would consider myself more of a striker personally.
But drilling armbars and locks has gotten me pretty confident in ground work. Our instructor (did ufc a few times blah blah blah) told me that apparently it's harder to grapple with taller lankier opponents for some reason.

Win or lose, you'll see the video online.
My dad doesn't want me to do it because he thinks I'll get killed.
My brother convinced them to let me try it.
I figured if I'm going to be fighting against double 0's (No experience) my tiny experience in boxing and ground work might help enough to give me the upper hand.
My training consists of running a mile at the start. Every quarter mile, you sprint. (Shit is so hard. Soon it'll be 2 miles then soon we will be carrying weights)
then immediately you sprint back to the gym and start drills. Different stations for different endurance testers. Bags on the ground for ground and pound, and kicking pads. You go all out for a minute then switch. Around this time kids start passing out and vomiting.
We then work basic punching and takedown drills. Then he teaches us a new armbar lock or something and we practice it until we have it locked in our heads.
THEN we try it while our opponent tries to resist it.
Then we spar.
Drill a few more then head home.
At home I have my own little routine now too. But it's basic running and punching.

you do not look like you have much muscles so you must be pretty tall....

Holy hell towels. Seriously dude, dont fight at 180. You will get manhandled so bad. Drop some weight, or put on some serious muscle.

Not being funny, actually I am being funny ha ha. But at 180 you will get destroyed.
mma is for pussies. i'll just double cork round them to the face
edit:oh jesus andy hahahaha
They can double surprise something in a face pretty hard to

the next class down is around the 160ish range. I don't think 20 lbs will honestly make that much difference.
I have a 78 inch reach. If a 180 cm fighter fought me, he'd have around a 68 inch reach. Regardless of the 20 lbs of muscle difference, I still could strike them almost a full foot before the ever got close to me.

but then when they take you to the ground you would be fucked as they would be 20 lbs of muscle stronger...
