No it does not. Infact, running will actually increase tricking performance while resistance training of any kind will decrease performance.

me and my friedn both disagree since we started weight lifting it had gone side by side with our tricking, im not saying it helps a large amount but it gives me that extra edge that i need. so yer weight lifting probably does help but if you train for big slow ass muscles then yer it wont if you train for all your muscles to be fast twitch then you will be like a squiriell jumping around and spinning crazy like i know i am :)
Everyone in the thread was being sarcastic (I presume haha)
Or at least I was.

It decreases the risk of injury, that's for sure. Other benefits could be strength (vert) and explosivness...

it helps as long as you train correct :) what is for sure is that it wont do you any worse ..
And those are the reasons I'll start lifting in September :D

Yes, more power, and more coolness anyway because the bigger a trickster you are the more awesome it looks. Just look at Juji or Mr.Munchausen.

I want to ban you, highly ignorant one.
Unless you were joking.
Edit: I lift weights regularily. I've had fewer injuries, gotten better height on most of my tricks (though I train both squats, deads, one leg step ups, pistol squats etcetc).
Basically, if you only benchpress and bicep curl, you won't notice anything but bigger tits and bigger arms. If you train smart and actually train squats, deads, pistols, jump squats, step-ups, snatches, clean and jerks, or similar exercises, you'll notice a good difference.
I did, at least. My backflips got better, I can dlegtwist now, my gainers are better etc... Of course actually tricking has a huge impact on this, but I know that weightlifting has had a pretty important role in both injury prevention and height/power.
Most people say I'm in the "power" category of tricks, and doing basic martial arts kicking combined with heavy and explosive weightlifting made me just that.
Huge thighs tend to get in the way of kicks though, and I noticed that kicking with probably 5lbs less thigh musculature made jacknifing a LOT easier (though I still haven't gotten it back properly due to injury).
However, it took me 3.5 years to build my thighs to the size they were, and only 2 months for them to decrease in size.
SPEAKING OF WHICH, I'M OUT TO TRICK AND LIFT WEIGHTS!

I find personally, if i get lazy with my core training i.e: back, abs, obliques. I will notice overtime a depression in my my twisting moves [ kicks and twist ]
also like jan said, if all you do if bench press you won't be provided with any tricking related, or any thing that doesn't involve pushing results.

Just because you lift weights doesn't mean it's going to make you more explosive. You have to use the right amount of weight and put speed into the lifts. Perfect examples of that are snatches and power snatches :good:

That's basicly the reason that I'm starting to lift too.

Imo use all the time you'd spend on weight lifting in stretching. You will gain MUCH more trickwise that way (assuming you're not using it to just plainly... trick, haha)

I have been lifting weights for a lot longer than tricking (I'm pretty nub), so I can't say if it helped or not. I guess it helped by getting me in shape though.

Well my knees are already fucked up so I need to prevent injuries, and this seems the best way. For all you 50kg healthy teens this might be good advice, but for us older cripples...

I can do oversplits all ways, and I still lift weights 4-5 times a week. It's not like you can use 6 hours a day on stretching anyways.
