Well, i'm confused.

The thing is, the left hand side of my body is slighty 'buffer', than the right hand side.
Nothing massive, but if you look closely, muscles like my left bicep, left tricep, left upper trapezius, left pectoral have a slightly bigger muscle size than my right muscles.
Not only this, but the left hand side of my abdominal muscles (+ this muscle on my hip bone) are also much more visible. (And look better)

Now yeah, you've probably heard that before..but here's the weird part...i'm naturally right handed.
The right side of my body is the smaller side, but actually stronger :S

So yeah, while my my left side is 'buffer', my right side is actually stronger.

I'm going to continue lifting the same weight on both sides ofcourse...because i don't want my right arm to get way stronger than my left, or my left side to get larger than my right.

The only thing that i can think of that could possible be causing this is because i am naturally right handed, my right side muscles are leaner or something.

But yeah, anyone got any thoughts on what's happening, or what i could do to fix this?

Much Appreciated.

training frequently with dumbell exercises rather than barbell/similar exercises will help with this. especially after a good few months of training. :good:

I was going to say relatively the same as what Dave said, dumbbells ftw.

Thanks. I'll start the Dumbell work at the gym tomorrow.

So by training with dumbells, i'll even up the muscle sizes?

I thought if i trained with dumbells, because my left arms weaker, it'd get even larger than my right!

Generally when people have had one side slightly weaker, the advise I have heard being given is keep using the same weight for both arms even if one is using lower reps, eventually the weaker arm will catch up. This kind of makes sense to me, as yano if one arm can only do 1 rep then thats well, pure strength really isn't it haha, it would gain strength very quickly.

Although I am ofcourse, no expert ^.^

It could just be the side the light is coming from when you look in the same mirror makes it look more defined due to the shadows?

Ahaha nuh, i've asked mates to look aswell, and they can see what i mean.
I also see the difference when im working out.
Like when i was military pressing yesterday, with the top of my pecs, the left looks better, and is bigger.
They're only tiny differences, that you can't see unless you actually look at it.

But yeah i assume they'll even up in time, i just thought i'd see what TT thinks.

Gain more weight. Chances are, if you're worrying about a little bit of asymmetry, and you're not a competitive bodybuilder, you'd be better off worrying about gaining mass.

Use the same amount of volume when training individual sides in whatever exercise (dumbbell rowing, curling etc).

Humans are only symmetrical in the most general of ways. Subtle variations occur over the various axes. Congratulations.

Yeah, i just found it funny how my left side, in all aspects is 'buffer' than my right.

Like my mate has a right bicep bigger than his left.

but ive got like 6 muscles on my left side larger than my right hand side equivalent, all my right side muscles appear smaller.

But yeah, i was just looking for opinions on the matter as TT has some very knowledgeable users. :D

thats wierd, every1 always has one side bigger/stronger.
Generally the stronger arm is bigger lol

I have the exact same thing. Right handed, but the left side of my body is bigger in almost all cases. Although my left side is actually stronger too... Nothing to worry about either way.

Muscle leanness applies to the whole body, and doesn't change from left side to right.

Do an extra set with your lagging muscles, but don't let this "problem" be the main focus of your workouts now or anything. Keep training your balls off and lifting heavy. :good: Your muscles may or may not even out, but it doesn't really matter a whole lot.
