To sum it up, it says that the best water is pure, has oxygen, minerals, and is alkaline. He tests some bottled waters and none of them have electrolytes and shows others that are very acidic, as opposed to alkaline. Then at the end he puts in some of his company's products which gives it electrolytes, or ions. And boosts the PH to a 9.5 or some shit alkaline. It's not a normal PH tester, its one for water.

The question is, should I worry about that stuff at all? Or should I keep buying 24 packs of half liter bottles at Walmart for less than $4?

Hah yea, last time I was abroad one could not drink from the tap, tasted like... well, ill. Such countries have my pity. Home here I can drink fresh water from the tap :agony: I am awesome.

Yes Zenrenn, pure water has impurities in it.

To add to Steve and Tossman, if you think it's any more complicated than THIS:

You're wrong. If you don't think your water is pure enough, purify it or some shit. Geez.

OXYGEN CONTENT?

edit: I know salt makes water conduct, but does that turn it acidic?

I love the taste of my city's water. Any other water tastes funny to me.

haha I just watched a few minutes of that clip. If anyone actually buys into what the dude said, he or she probably didn't pass highschool biology and/or chemistry.

Pure H20 tastes bad. People add minerals to it to make it taste better

Bottled water is okay. In California (where I live), water for residential use is monitored and treated 24/7. It generally has some minerals in it and a minute amount of flouride (good for the teeth). It is also supposedly 500x cheaper than bottled water.

If you live in the United States then chances are your tap water is infact better for you than bottled, and cheaper. Taste is all a matter of opinion. Having it or not having it doesn't really mean anything unless you KNOW it is contaminated lol.

I just saw a program on TV the other week where a news reporter tried some 10-15 bottles of those $25+ bottles of water. He commented on taste and purity. He noted that most of the waters had distinct tastes put on by nutrients added to the water. In the end it was determined that tap water would suffice for all practical purposes. The only reasons that these specific brands were so expensive was because 1) there IS a market for it (todays "get fit" trend), and 2) the price creates exclusivity.

I used to drink water bottles a lot. It is usually easier to grab and go. Now I carry around either a 1L Nalgene bottle or fill my Camelbak when I go out. Even if I'm not exercising....I'm cheap.

When it rains really bad where I live, the water tastes like mold and dirt. It's really nasty, so I stick with the filtered water from my refrigerator or bottled water.

the body already has its own complex chemical processes set up to maintain each of its systems at a very specific pH

drinking fancy water is not necessary to do this
