View Full Version : How do you combine tricking and regular gym training?

Hi!
I just started tricking a few weeks ago and I wonder how you combine your tricking sessions and your gym session. I've been to the gym for about a year but since I started my tricking I quit all my gym training because I feel that it interfered with the tricking. So how do you combine those things?

haha, my first post ever! have that in mind! no but i figured that if I go to the gym the day before I I'am about to trick perhaps my "training acke" (don't know what its called in english) would interfere, correct me if I'm wrong

train, rest, trick, repeat.
works for 99% of the tricking community :good:
train regularly and trick whenever you feel like it

Thanks for the reply! I guess I made it more complicated than it was:smile:
It takes me 1 hour to walk to my gym, so after 3 hours (1 hour walk there, 1 in the gym and 1 back) I have a 30 minuet Tricking session. It wasn't half bad either haha.

my schedule used to be:
monday: tricking for one hour
tuesday: weight training (5 x 5)
wednesday: tricking for one hour
thursday: weight training (5 x 5)
friday: rest
Saturday: Weight Training (5 x 5)
Sunday: rest
and it worked beautifully for me

When I do things more how I feel they should, personally
Day 1: Chest, Triceps
Day 2: Tricking, Back, Biceps
Day 3: Shoulders
Day 4: Tricking, Legs
Posssiblyyy a day of rest depending on how sore my shoulders are.
When I DO trick, (I've only started regular tricking rather than once every 4 weeks like, 7 days ago haha), I trick twice in the day for 20 minutes each time, about 10 minutes dynamic and static stretching before I do it. This way I can trick with full energy each time, it generally goes like
Breakfast-
Shower-
Trick-
Lunch-
Cup of tea-
Trick-
Carry on with rest of day:

Yeah atm i'm training:
Monday = Rest
Tuesday = Back/Biceps/Abs
Wednesday = Tricking in a gym
Thursday = Legs/Shoulders
Friday = Chest/triceps
Saturday = Rest
Sunday = Rest, occasional Freerunning.
Sucks cause my gyms at uni and i dont have uni on mondays. (Takes an hour to get to uni)
Aslong as i dont do any workouts on wednesday, i find my tricking sessions go quite well:D
Then cause i work like 9pm-5am Friday/Saturday night...i get shit all done on the weekend lol

Monday: run, swim, lift
Tuesday: lift
Wednesday: swim, lift, trick
Thursday: lift
Friday: run, lift
Saturday: run, trick, lift
Sunday: surf/kayak/something random that isn't running, lifting, tricking, or swimming
I'm doing a 3 day split twice a week. It's hard to combine this crap with work and school. :(
