okay.. so my class and i were playing softball(i know it dosent beat baseball, but our playing area is too small) during our Physical Education period in school. after batting the ball i ran to the first base and braked with my feet together with my toes pointing up, like it would in a pushing kick. and thats how i got the injury, on my right ankle. its been nearly a month and it hasnt healed completely, though its MUCH better since the moment i got it
i cant twist my ankle to the sides and point my toes up/down without experiencing 'ankle-sprain' pains. the pain is concentrated between the the heel and that circular joint-thingy there. i suspect its the muscle that joins to the heel thats damaged. whats more, there is weakness at times, this mean i cant trick at all.
any ideas whats going on or what i should do other than seeing an expert(i like to go cheap and efficient)?
thanks

Are you expecting someone to reply with the formula for a magic potion?
But really, ankles, wrists, knees, etc take ages to heal.

True, and I hate this.

Just grind up some kanoka leafs, into a paste like substance. Poor olive oil in to the kanoka leaves. Let it sit for 2 days. Then rub the stuff on your ankles while singing the abc's backwards.
(This will not help your ankles, but it will confuse your parents.)

Have you heard of ''R.I.C.E'?
Rest: Resting is important immediately after injury for two reasons. First, rest is vital to protect the injured muscle, tendon, ligament or other tissue from further injury. Second, your body needs to rest so it has the energy it needs to heal itself most effectively.
Ice: Use ice bags, cold packs or even a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a thin towel to provide cold to the injured area. Cold can provide short-term pain relief. It also limits swelling by reducing blood flow to the injured area. Keep in mind, though, that you should never leave ice on an injury for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. Longer exposure can damage your skin. The best rule is to apply cold compresses for 15 minutes and then leave them off for at least 20 minutes.
Compression: Compression limits swelling, which slows down healing. Some people notice pain relief from compression as well. An easy way to compress the area of the injury is to wrap an ACE bandage over it. If you feel throbbing, or if the wrap just feels too tight, remove the bandage and re-wrap the area so the bandage is a little looser.
Elevation: Elevating an injury reduces swelling. It's most effective when the injured area is raised above the level of the heart. For example, if you injure an ankle, try lying on your bed with your foot propped on one or two pillows.
But just give it time to heal,I had to take 3 months off tricking because i sprained my ankle from a cork.Even then after a month or so I still felt pain. But its gone now. Also do a lot of ankle strengthening exercises to reduce risk of injury. But don't go to the doctor because they will just tell you to rest it,unless you go to physical therapy and have them strengthen it for you.Thats what I did and I meet this fine lady lol.
But good luck.

Elevation doesn't necessarily be above the heart, thats more for if a wound is bleeding. As long as the limb is proped up enough for the swelling to drain into the lymphatic system then thats enough. So for an ankle injury, you want it to drain into the lymph nodes in the groin, so you can be sat up with your foot on a pillow :good:

thanks for the reply guys. i had NEVER ,before having the ankle sprained, in my life had an injury like this so i didn't know. my injuries usually take a couple of days to heal
I shall patiently wait for it to recover while forcing ankle rotations on it

the most fucked up thing after an injury is the fear that this could happen again which disturbes you concentration on every single trick..
