Post a video up of how much you can do and challenge other people.

No-one cares trickster bee, pull ups aren't the best representation of strength when you come to someone who can do like 30. Like ooo, sexy endurance ftw.
I am currently as the first part of my pulling day routines doing 5 sets of 8 with 30lbs extra weight (I know it's not alot but hey, its better than doing it with no extra weight), I imagine I could do about 15 pull ups normally.
By pull ups I mean palms facing away, not towards, with palms facing towards I imagine I could do about 18.

I think a weighted pull up challenge would be better, as with pull ups people tend to cheat them some how when doing a lot of them.

I can do 14 chin-ups.
I don't add weight because I don't feel like carrying my dip belt to the gym when I'm already taking shoes, a towel, chalk, straps, wraps, tape, sugar cubes, gatorade mix, an empty bottle, a bottle of water, and sometimes my camera, stretch bands, chains, or platemates. Though, I suppose it might be worthwhile to invest in a gym bag now that I think about it...

The reason why body cares is because
A: You haven't posted a video of yourself first.
B: Pull ups are irrelevent in all training except arm development(which trickers don't really give a shit about) or if you want to be able to do more pull ups.

How about strengthening muscles of the shoulder girdle leading to overall healthier shoulders which are necessary in almost all sports?

Pull ups are also generally good for upper back development for those of us who don't have access to gyms or enough weights for deadlifts :] My back seems to be coming along fine nowadays that I actually have some sort of routine sorted for my back, I believe I owe plenty to weighted pull ups ^.^

It's generally for when Ernest comes back from spain and goes "Oh lawd". I'm trying to somewhat glorify myself all over noticeable areas of his profile for the reaction he has =p

I knew I was forgetting something . I keep thinking about training and conditioning in tricking terms that I forget about other basic conditioning :dead:

Ankle weights plus dumbbells, all in the bag then adding up to 26 lbs, get a few books or tools in there too and get yourself a nice 30lb bag.

I can do 5 wide grip pull ups with +45 Lbs and
1 chin up with +100 Lbs.
But I don't have a video of it yet.

I can do 5 overhand pullups. Bodyweight.

Future reference:
Pull-up -- overhand, pronated grip
Chin-up -- underhand, supinated grip
If you're using a parallel, semi-supinated grip, you can basically tack on either, e.g. parallel grip chin-up, parallel grip pull-up, etc.
The pull-up is generally known as the base exercise and the chin-up a variation of it.

I don't think I've seen anyone do wide grip chin-ups. I'd imagine it being quite hard, if not bad for your joints, etc.

1) Wide grip is worthless. (See other thread.)
2) Wide grip chin-ups are anatomically impossible (or at least extremely painful).

Chic is right. Believe me I tried wide grip chin ups and I thought my wrists were gonna implode :ouch:

Yeah I thought so. It was just a completely random thought. I knew that wide-grip pullups were worthless, but people still did them for ages thinking it helped, so maybe some misguided people back in the day might have done wide-grip chin-ups.

I've done 1 chin with almost 60 k attached and 4 wide grip pullups with 40 k attached. I have no video so no one will believe me anyway. I've done full ROM dips with 60k for 4 reps, that I'm quite proud of too.
Edit: wide-grip pullups were done mainly as an occasional variation so spare me the already mentioned uselessness of them.

Asking how many weighted pull-ups people can do is kind of pointless without saying a specific weight to be used.
I generally don't do weighted pull-ups/chin-ups. I've done 30 chin-ups to full extension, and on my CERT test for work, I did 22 pull-ups, also to full extension (they had to be to count). I only worked on pull-ups for that though, otherwise I do almost exclusively chin-ups.

Yeah I do this too, especially with dips. It's a bit annoying.

Of course they're still effective. However, the problem is that they're no more effective than lat pull-downs to the front and have the added benefit (har har har) of possibly degrading your rotator cuff.
In other words, just do your pull-downs to the front.

It's depends on how your acromion is shaped, along with your shoulder / scapula flexibility
