Has anyone read this book and applied any of the exercises? Do they really help strengthen your joints? I'm looking to have less pain in my knees after tricking cuz they always hurt and rest doesn't always work for me. My diet is good but I juss need some stronger joints son!:juji:

I bought this book a few years back. Essentially it instructs you to rotate all of your joints through full circular range of motion in both diretcions before you workout. For your spine you twist from side to side instead of rotating. It does go into more detail and has other movements, as well. I have done it before every workout since, and for me it serves well as a warmup.

You can't strengthen your joints, you strengthen the muscles surrounding it. Start squatting and deadlifting and the problem should solve itself (unless you have an injury).

I've read the book and it's basically just rolling your joints! :good:

Pavel's stuff may be expensive but that doesn't mean it's wrong. I read it and it's kinda interesting. I think it's like 'relax into stretch' part 2 basically.

If you strengthen the tendons running across joints (and their ligaments) that strengthens joints... of course, it's still via strenghtening muscles, lol. More flexibility and getting rid of deposits and getting more mobile (but stable) helps their health/strength.

Maybe you should trick less if your joints hurt after the session =/

Twisting is how the spine rotates.

Twisting is how the spine rotates.

Indeed, I stand corrected. I meant that you twist your spine from side to side instead of rotating it in circles as you would do with your shoulders and other joints. Then again, I suppose none of your joints are actually capable of a full 360 degree rotation, so none of the rotations are actual circles. It probably wasn't necessary for me to go into the detail of mentioning the spine, I just didn't want to give the impression that the book left it out.

Seems like heavy lifting (deadlifts and squats) would do more harm than good to an already potentially injured knee. Would you still recommend it? And what do you think of running in addition to heavy lifting for strengthening the knee, or rather the muscles around the joint?

YEs I'm also curious, I feel like my knees are gonna start hurting from impacts soon, but no injuries as of yet. Light squatting and deadlifting to start with?

My lifestyle choice is obviously too HARDCORE for my puny knee cartilage.

Jogging will not strengthen your knee, so please do not resort to it.

Deadlifts have a lot less knee range of motion so they usually do not aggravate my knees, even with a slight meniscus problem.

I have joint problem too. When I do outside crescents, I hear a crack and feel like the bone is getting out of the joint (I don't know how to explain this :D). Should I do something about it, or will it stop if I keep doing the kicks ??
Thanx in advance 4 not posting bullshit

What do you think?

But seriously, could you describe it a bit more? Like where the pain is and stuff like that?

Sometimes this comes from overuse, so you might be able to fix it with rest, and then a more gradual return to kicking.
In the meantime, you should probably go easy on the kicks. If it's painful, I suggest you stop them until you figure out what you're going to do about the problem. Better safe than sorry and all that.

It doesn't hurt, but it sucks. Maybe my joints aren't used to this range of motion, that's why I supposed it will stop by time...
I have the same feeling when I strech (for splits). I feel like my joints aren't capable for the splits :(

So do easier stretches? Anyway, this question's been answered many times before. Searching for "popping hips" would probably answer your question as best as anyone here can.
