Hey guys.
I've been in the martial arts biz for a few years now. I've had on and off training.

Anyway, I need some help with the 540 Kick. I've made some good progress. BUT, There's a problem I can't seem the fix (assume that the setup is right and I'm facing front. I kick with the right leg) and I use the wind up take off rather then the momentum step take off. See the videos of Epic1 on Youtube. I find it easier to use those steps.

You see, whenever I seem to kick, my kick would end up on the right side rather then the front. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: I am now using both set ups and both kinds of take offs (momentum steps and wind up). But my kick for both the 540 and Tornado Kick always end up on the right side rather than on the front.

Hard to visualize. Post a vid if you can.

EDIT: Maybe you're kicking too early?

best advice...look where u kicking! find a spot to look at, wether its a tree or a painting or wtv, wen u jump, look over ur shoulder and c the tree or wtv, and try to kick there! there isnt much point in tryin to delay the kick or spin faster in order to get the rite point...just look, and u will kick where u look. it sounds weird, and it is weird but it works! and this goes for all ur kicks. wish u luck.

I have exactly the same problem (see video)...

... I land with wrong foot position and just "spin around" while already back on the ground.

What I am going to try to "get around" completely is to swing my chest around and to look around, instead of keeping my eyes on the target after the kick in mid-air. No Idea if this is going to help, so for me too help would be appreciated ;)

thanks <3

well i have just started learning tornados (i think i do them pretty good for 20 attempts worth) and i do the same thing i.e i spin when i land so my tornado kick goes 360 in the air then i spin on my feet for the last 180.
