If you could choose for you [including your family and friends] how long would you want to live (healthily)?

If you could live hundreds or thousands of years, would you want to?
Immortality? If you are interested in the topic of "life extension (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_extension)" you can pm me/ask along.

Options include for instance:
No, I don't care how long I live. Healthy and happy is enough for me.
An extraordinarily long and healthy life (à la Jean Calement) ~120 years
Hundreds of years
Thousands of years
Immortality

Well if nobody dies anymore, there will be ridiculous overpopulation and the natural resources will deplete until there's no food left so people will have to turn to cannibalism to survive until there's only one person left and that person won't know what to do so he'll go fucking apeshit and start to eat himself until he bleeds to death and the human race will be extinct.

Wait, that would be excellent. Life extension FTFW

I want to be an immortal but only if I get to be a billionaire someway, and I'd periodically make new identities so people wouldn't bug me. Then I'd write my biography so it would be like interview with a vampire, except it's interview with a (billionaire) trickster and I'd land triple corks on concrete.

Healthy & Immortal! Could I have a lifetime(pun) supply of anti-ageing cream too? I'd eventually become the smartest & strongest person alive!

You only need to register (it takes 2-3mins) to nominate, but you don't need to check your mail or anything.

so basically you'd carry on living in the shell of a person not being able to eat properly, move properly, losing your sight, losing your bowel control and generally living like a prisoner in your own body.

why the hell would you want to do that?

The stars shall fade away, the sun himself Grow dim with age, and nature sink in years, But thou shalt flourish in immortal youth, Unhurt amidst the wars of elements, The wrecks of matter, and the crush of worlds.

Eternal youth obviously. In fact that's the long term goal of Aubrey de Grey et al. We need such visionaries.

i would want to live old enough to see really cool stuff....but i dont know what they would be....iono, unless scientists invent magic i think it would be boring so i guess i wouldnt bother being immortal, unless said reason is fulfilled.

Pete_man_man, i like your choice, in my yearbook they asked what super hero power you would like, i wrote wolverine and they left it out

I like the immortal with the option of suicide option. Also, the ability to maintain a body that is in the prime of my normal life.

I think if you live for longer than normal you'd become crazy at one point.

Unless you're stupidly depressed and find life too painful for your retarded ass, living forever in the prime of your life would be ideal.

All the people you cared for would die, and you would be still there.

I don't want to live forever. I want to live my unknown allotted time and be able to travel and see/meet the most important people in my life every once in a while (if not some of them everyday).

I also want to get out of America for awhile. I need to learn to appreciate what I have here, and that's the only logical way I can see myself figuring things out. Experience is more convincing than argument most of the time, anyways.

It wouldn't bother me if someone I loved wanted to become immortal, though. That's their choice, in the end.

Who wants to live forever?

Anima
Aug-27-08, 02:20 PM
To me the answer is simple. Immortality with the option of suicide. I mean you can choose to die at what ever time you want, so you don't have to live abnormally long anyway. Making all other options pointless.

In the game Lost Odyssey you play a main character who is immortal and has been living for 1000 years. Some intense stories portray how it would be being immortal. I can't say that for the whole game because I never finished it. But besides that...uhh. Yeah..

JacktheHero

Live forever or die trying (catch-22). That's what I call going with style.

Please support my project (look in my sig), we are trying to defeat (or at least considerably slow down) aging. It's clearly a matter of choice how long you want to live, but by supporting this project you can give others at least a slim chance of living considerably longer than nowaydays possible.

Long live the crazy ideas
