I always ate butter.

But my roomate has margarine in the fridge. And he told me they no longer add hydrogen to it and stuff.

Basically my question is.

Is margarine ok to eat?

Which is better.

Margarine is more healthy as it contains less fat and more water. More water, which makes it spreadable.

They both taste good but I generally have margarine as it contains less cholesterol.....and its spreads without ripping your bread:smile:

Because less fat means more healthy.

If I had to chose I'd use butter because my mom never really bought margarine and I like the way butter tastes when it melts in nice hot bread.

Your concept of what is healthy is completely wrong. You have been enlightened.

Replace every instance of "water" with "vegetable oil" and you would be generally correct.

Yea, Margarin is mostly vegetable oil I thought

Not really, the term healthy would be depended on what the individual wants from their diet.

So I would also be wrong....partially

Is this true? Was it an idea of the Governator?

Why not use both. Then, when your naked and covered in butter/marg you can jump in a giant deep fryer. O never mind, I was just having a nightmare about my job at kfc

Haha, I was going to ask that.

Arnold is a great governor.

Butter tastes a lot nicer, but preferably you shouldn't eat it [margarine] at all.

I was told that as a child i used to scoop lard into my hands and eat eat eat. :\

Butter is in the 150 healthiest food book. Margarine is not.

Its better to have a small portion of butter rather than Margarine. I've read some studies suggesting hydrogenated fats slows down metabolism.

butter is win
as is heavy whipping cream

but make sure to get cultured butter, or amish butter that comes in blocks

then you can make butter and honey sandwiches
and those are delicious

Margerine rules, but however butter kills it with its great taste and higher calories. Butter ftw.

What kind of honey?

any kind of honey, it really does not matter.

for a while I ate buckwheat honey, which was super dark. It looked like molasses

but I imagine wildflower honey is the standard

I can really get by without either easily, even if I'm eating sandwiches and stuff I just leave them both out. Mother dearest used to always make my sandwiches for school with butter, but then in the last year or so butter suddenly seemed undesirable to me and it has since then. I use mayo sometimes though or also "salad creme" for English people who know what that is. they both have different uses

I've been eating clover honey; how would you compare the different types (dark vs. light)?

As for margarine: enjoy your processed vegetable oils :bad:

Yuri

I see nothing wrong with clover honey

I think really the only difference between dark and light honey is the taste. I do not think either one is better for you

of course there are always the super expensive honeys that are $10 for a tiny jar but I never get those due to price
