Give me a summary ffs. As if anyone is going to read that other than the training and nutrition forum nerds.

I don't have a summary, I just found it on another forum. I thought if it peaked anyone's interest they could research it themselves.

Interesting. 3 meals a day with calorie surplus yields better muscle gain than 6 meals a day with same calorie surplus in a 12 week strength training program. Fat gain is the same.

The advantage for 3 meals though was 2.87%, I think such a study hardly conclusive for a study over 30ish persons.

I prefer three meals a day.

Well at least it helps to furtherly shatter a hard-to-kill myth that 6 meals is the way of god.

I have about 8 meals a day, but that's just because I like to constantly be snacking, and it's a better compromise than only eating 3 times a day.

When I lifted, I preferred eating my meals as 5, rather than 3, simply because it just felt more comfortable. I didn't like eating large amounts in one go.

I agree,with Skippy,6 or so smaller meals a day is more comfortable,why not have 1 meal a day? 4.4lbs / 2kg of cashews should do the trick,lolol.

Edit: Interesting read, but what an ugly page.

I have been eating about 6-7 meals per day, but thinking about switching to 3 meals with some snacks now that school has started and I don't have as much time to eat all day long.

I didn't say I do,I was just over exaggerating a suggestion for one meal a day, let's say a 3rd of that which is what?..3820 odd, would that still work & how effective would it be? Don't worry I'm not going to be attempting it.

Okay, so this article basically is telling me to eat 1000+ calories a meal. like thats possible....

same here.. its just a lack of time which wont allow me to eat more than 3 bigger meals and one atween-snack. But I'm fine with that :)

It would take ages to digest fully which means that your body would get a constant flow of nutrients and you wouldn't have to worry about eating constantly. Downsides? You'd be pushing your body to the max 24/7.

3 meals a day is perfect IMO. Sure a snack here and there is ok but I don't consider a glas of milk and a banana a meal.

Okay, so this article basically is telling me to eat 1000+ calories a meal. like thats possible....

My dinner is 1200 kcal (chicken, rice, almonds and milk). 1000 kcals is nothing. A glas of canola oil is 1600 kcal... disgusting? Yes. Calorie dense? Fuck yeah.

When I lifted I often drank Olive oil, well, 100mls of it just for the caloric advantages ^.^ 800 calories per 100mls for the win. Eating 1000 calories per meal is no problem though, my old breakfast used to be 1400 calories by itself.

BUT I HEAR DAT DER MICHAEL PHELPS EATS 4000 FOR BREAKFAST/lol

Eating 3 meals a day is far easier regardless but I figured it didn't really matter much just as long as I was intaking enough calories anyway.

Yeah,I bit that olive oil trick of yours Skippy when you mentioned it a while ago, otherwise I snack on peanut butter or cashews.
