you could try the russian lift, or you could try just setting with you arms above you intially. right now you're kinda doing a reverse russian lift.

I have a friend who does the same thing when he tries to russian. but when you swing your arms down like that, it takes away from your height.
Haha its pretty ironic... I'm a Russian and i cannot do russian lifts  so how's it's done dude? should i just swing my arms backwards as far as they go, and keep them there or something?

Swing your arms around and back behind you. You want to jump at the same time as your arms get as far back as they can go, to maximize lift.
Funny, my friend that can't russian lift is also russian. lol
heh i see.. its a curse we should break then ^^ thanks alot again seems im gonna make it like its supposed to be with your help.

Looks something like that. For your normal front tuck, you've pretty much got everything right. Only thing you might want to do is set over your head with straight arms instead of bent to generate more torque.
For me, the only ways to get my arms straight over my head is to do an armcircle. If you're not comfortable with them it's kind of a hard habit to break into.
And I'm sure there are plenty of Arabs who can't do Arabians.

I have mixed feelings about the russian lift. It makes the flip feel really floaty, and you don't need to jump as much. But it has a tendancy to make me drive my chest down as soon as i start to flip. Maybe i'd like it better if i was better at it. It is pretty fun when i do it correctly though.
thank you for joining this thread here to help me and even with video ryan =]] heh good call bout Arabs.. and theres also a butterflies who cant btwist and it goes on

land with your arms up, that won't really make the front flip any better but that's the way front flips are suppose to be.

>_> Seeing all these good front flips make me realize I really need to practice mine, I still got a stupid giant jump then a small hop intro.
I prefer just a reguler setup, only thing that i could suggest is block and delay

Just take a few step run-in to gain some momentum, perform a little hop (that way you can properly block), and once your feet touch the ground, explode straight up into the air using your arms to gain more height (remember you want to go vertical, not horizontal). Then just pull your knees/legs in to properly tuck and once finished tucking straighten your body out so that you can land properly standing up.
