I just started working out last week, and I'm lifting 5 times a week, but I need to add some protein to my diet. Ive been using protein powder that you mix into a bottle of water but its only 10g per bottle so although its a small boost, I want to get some serious protein powder.
I'd also prefer that it be more than just pure protein, hopefully more of a complete workout shake that will give me some stuff to aid muscle building etc etc.
Any recommendations?

Ah cool thanks.
Ive had a good bit of protein shakes in the past, and my personal favorite was muscle milk. Can you compare it to that?

Eiselt Douple Pro is so good that it actually tastes good. You hand a shake to unknowing people and they think you made a milkshake for them. Too bad it's a swedish company mwahahahahaha!

Been doing a lot of research, and ON 100% has a cult-like following haha. Im thinking bout trying out some ON 100%, Dymatize Elite, and some Nitro-Tech, probably in that order just because ON 100% is easily available from GNC and I can get an employee discount so its not bad.
I've also heard amazing things about Beverly Muscle provider, but it looks pretty expensive :(
EDIT: Same with AST's VP2 and ErgoPharm GF Pro
Also, whats this mess I hear about some proteins building lean muscle and some building bulky muscle? Is there any truth to that?

I like EAS Whey. I can drink it like chocolate milk and it mixes pretty well. as far as a more complete workout shake, make your own it healthier that way. Weight gainer shakes or meal replacements tend to be loaded with complete crap in my opinion.

Without sounding like a Biotest whore, I have to say Metabolic Drive is the best I've tasted.

Best I ever tried was called "Maximum Protein" from a franchised GNC. The bitch was so expensive though at $60 bucks for 5 lbs, so basically it was 2.5 times the price of a normal protein. I guess it cost so much because it tasted so good in water. Who knows? Either way, I still have 10 lbs worth of this sealed and sitting in my pantry because I haven't taken protein since last year-very early this year. What a waste of my money... :agony:

Last three lots of protein i bought was from Musashi, Musashi and Body Science, apparently they're really good.
But $60 for 5lb?
The stuff i've been buying is $70AUD for like 2.2LB...aah shit :dead:

Beverly Intl. is supposed to be one of the best proteins money can buy. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of that money to buy it at $45USD a lb haha.

haha dont buy protein for the flavour.
get unflavoured whey, stay away from shitty brand names.
You can get shitloads more for your money getting unflavoured, up to 8kg for the price of a brand name 1kg tub.
And no, i'm not joking.
Mine is unflavoured, i get 5kg for about $40
They're all the same. There's probably only a couple actual manufacturers making powders for the entire supplement industry.

i detest most of them
i only tried biotest once, the low-carb Grow, and that stuff was actually pretty palatable
biotest would be decent if their products didnt all have annoying ten page writeups with tc luoma saying HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS THE BEST GOD DAMN THING YOU'VE EVER USED IN YOUR LIFE AND I WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND JACK YOU OFF MYSELF IF YOU BUY IT

I've always followed the saying 'you get what you paid for'
I've seen 5lb buckets of whey protein for $110 and ive seen 2.2lb tubs of protein for $90, now why would anyone buy the 2.2LB if they could get the bulk 5lb tub and pretty much save $100?
I was going to grab the 5lb, but it seemed to good( 'n' cheap lol) to be true.
I also heard that different protein powders have different absorption rates. Like some power will have 75% of the protein absorbed into your blood, while other may only have a 50% absorbtion rate, is this true?

WTF Colonel you pay way too much for your protein.
Anyways, I picked up some ON Pro Complex today in vanilla, its pretty tasty. I just got a 2 lb one so I can try out the dyamtize elite in a few weeks when I'm out.
