Hi everyone. I don't know if you guys are aware or not but the v4 beta of CLUB540.com (http://www.CLUB540.com) is online.
I must say that I am very impressed with the website.
What are your opinions?
Wow, it looks amazing! Much improved from the one I saw in like '05.

I love the fact you can add your tricking spots, as well as whether it is grass, gym, dojo etc. Makes it perfect for being a database of tricks locations for new tricksters to reference.
Ricks tutorials are brilliant! He sounds like he's on drugs or something, he's so hyper.

Looks sweet, good features! I already had an account from way back that I just updated :)
Says something about ''account pending'' after changing my nickname (my email was set as nickname first), but I guess it'll be okay haha?

looks awesome but the tricks section with all the descriptions of tricks have absolutely shitty videos for all the oens i've looked at so far. The cheat 1080 is only a cheat 720 because he cheats so much, the pop 1260 is the same, the double leg twist has a barely defined double leg and the cheat hyper 9 is only 540 in the air :ogre:
odear...even the pop3 gyro is under rotated by 180 *palm face*

I like it. I like that I can see trickers close to my area there. :D

Lets just have a map filled with junk accounts from people who don't trick, don't exist, or don't care instead. Club540 v3 had over 30,000 registered users - how many of them do you think were legit trickers that you'd want to filter through to find real guys near you who you can trick with?
As for the other people addressing concerns with the tricktionary, I said from the very beginning of V4 development that it was in the hands of other people - sessh, perez, devera, etc. Currently Ridick is the tricktionary mod so if a video is wrong or a trick is in the wrong class, tell him.
Thanks~

Good job on the new design:) It looks a lot nicer than the old site, and it's easier to look through.

im currently working on the tricktionary so if you have any video examples which you think are better than send me a download link or if you think a trick should be in a differnt catagory if others agree i will change it :)
also if a new trick is created or landed and its a legit trick ie triple cork, cali roll stuff like that i will add it to the tricks list
That's how corks were originally done.
I know, I prefer the new ones much better.
i am really impressed as well, but the tricks need to be updated

Yea, but there's no reason that should be the representation for them now. Especially when we have people masterfully doing beautiful corks all the time now.

You still need to have a zipcode search function.

You still need to have a zipcode search function.
For what? Nobody outside the US has zipcodes. It currently calculates distance based on geo data coordinates provided by the CIA among others, and even takes into account the curvature of the Earth. It's very accurate.
Here's the formula:
earth_radius * pi * sqrt((latitude2 - latitude1) * (latitude2 - latitude1) + cos(latitude2/57.29577951) * cos(latitude1/57.29577951) * (longitude2 - longitude1) * (longitude2 - longitude1))/180

Then it should be taken up with the guy who put the clip up. Not "lol look at this" If it offends you then do something about it(not moaning at you specifically here skilz) It's just the people pissing and moaning about tiny things with the intention of doing nothing else but complain.
And as for beautiful corks, there were loads of amazing looking corks done in that style back in the day.

lololol HYPER double butterfly twist is listed as class E, yet double aerial twist is listed as class F. That is most ridiculous.

They're both class F. Your brain must be broken.

I'll look into it some more. So far I like the layout/design more.
Haha I'm still the au batido example.
Umm...Sean? Are you able to look up what email address and password I have in there? I haven't been to the site in so long I have no idea what I used and anything I tried wasn't working. I don't even know if the email I had exists anymore.
It's "Swartz" there. You could PM me the info or whatever.

Yea I was actually big into weightlifting back then. 335lb max bench and I weighed in at 182lbs, but my joints were having a hard time keeping up with my gains due to all the andro stacks I was taking. Now I'm 145lbs and pretty much only do endurance and calisthenic conditioning - lots of metabolic training and such.
So I guess leaner = younger haha

I just spent quite a bit of time updating my profile and checking everything out. I like the trick spot feature, I added 4 I frequent just in my area.
I really hope more people actually start using the site. It'd just make features like that so much better.
There might have been a thing or two I wanted to bring up but I can't think of it now and probably wasn't that important. Overall good work Sean.

wow, this is great dude!
i'd urge you not to use the classification thing though (A to F). not because it's bad (when used in context - sessh described it's uses as a learning tool), but you can imagine the problems and simply cringeworthy drama it's going to cause haha.

Eventually - keyword EVENTUALLY - I want to install the youtube api framework which has a tool that will allow you guys to specify the time stamp for your tricks, so when people watch your video, they can, for example, click on the c1080 in the list and it'll skip to that spot in the video. I say eventually because A) I have a ton of more important things to do and B) it requires the Zend framework to be installed first and that's a huge pain in the ass for a non sysadmin guy like myself.

Yeah I thought about that as a possibility but didn't mention it due to the likelyhood of it being quite an effort. STILL, that'd definetly be a nice touch someday.
people really do need to add tricking spots, its so fantastically easy !!
