My pcf ratio must be quite ridiculous right now. I think I'm having something like 50% fat, 30% carbs and 20% protein for a 2500 daily calorie diet. I'm 149 lbs 5.4foot tall. I'm doing mainly bodyweight excercises because I realized I'm doing it wrong with my weights - will get coached soon in a gym though. I trick 2x week too. I want to gain some muss.
I think I'm eating 2500 calories which is 300 over my maintenance level according to calculators. I think I'm probably not having enough protein ? I'm going to get me some whey+oat powder for more easy calories post workout.
I really have no precise questions or expectations. You guys have any reactions or anything to say to this ^ ?
(oh and squats and milk don't work because milk makes my head explode with acne)
No, you are getting enough protein, however bodyweight exercises will hardly do shit. Switch more carbohydrates out for protein. Start lifting weights. How can you do it wrong!? Just do lifts and increase the intensity gradually. If you want easy calories then just eat blocks of cheese, flaxseeds, whale blubber, etc.
Milk can be replaced somewhat by eating a bunch of hardboiled eggs and boiled eggshells (make sure they are finely ground up though so you don't kill yourself)

50% fat = worst idea ever
up the carbs and stop giving a shit about bodyfat
Also inject insulin and testosterone
If you're not getting enough omega 3, phytosterols, polyphenols, etc. then you're probably dying also

This is true..... Get atleast 2-3 grams of clean protein per kg of bodyweight. Cut down on the fat by far! Up your carbs.... You should look at 50%carbs, 30%-40% protein and only around 10-20% of your calories from fat.
I only take in an average of 2000calories a day. I weigh 82Kgs, im 5' 11. I train in the gym every day, and im building muscle at a healthy tempo while maintaining a bodyfat average of just below 10%. Its not about the amount of calories, its about your composition...
My diet consists of 200gr Protein a day[ clean protein, an average of 1kg of chicken breast a day(average of about 900calories)], 2000gr clean Carbs(average of about 900 calories) and around 20-30 grams of fat (average of around 200-300calores). Use good fats like avo, egg yolk, fatty fish(salmon) and fishoils, olive oil.

I don't give a shit about body composition, I want some muss. Seems to me that your diet must yield pretty low results, 2000 calories ? What the NIGGER. I was shooting for 2800 calories before I realized if I eat more than 2500cal/day I'd die of boredom or something. While it's a good thing you're making progress with such low bodyfat (which I doubt) I really think your "healthy tempo" is more like "I'm afraid of not seeing my abs for two seconds tempo", and I highly doubt you're making any significant progress.

ok dude...not meaning to be rude, but it wasnt about body composition, its about 'diet composition'....and if you think just taking in high calories is gonna work, then good on ya.....but to tell the truth.........WRONG! I take in 2000 calories a day, composing of food, whey protein shakes and whatever i feel like the day. I also use nitrix oxide before my workouts at the gym, creatine, glutamine and leucine 3 times a day... ZMA and numerous vitamins before sleep... And do you know what, yes, i dont want to lose my abs, its summer you ass! But even off season i wouldnt venture more then 2400 calories a day... And btw, i do fitness/amateur bodybuilding comps, ive got my certificate IV in personal training, and if i remember correctly you were the one who was asking advice in this thread, so dont try and over rule what works for other people when you have a lack of knowledge and experience yourself. Also read my post again. I said that 'I' take 2000 calories a day, i never said you should take less.... i Said change the composition to less fat with more carbs and protein. Otherwise, go ahead as you are now and c where that will get you.
All this being said, goodluck with your muscle gaining and training in general.
lol!
Let's see some pictures paul

50% fat is nothing.
Carbohydrates are the most overrated thing ever.

Sigh no, not only can you consume fats without eating chemicals that would increase LDL levels, but EPA and therefore ALA (fats oh no!) are also essential for increasing your HDL levels which are thought to lower LDL levels. In other words the sentiment of this post is not correct at best and utterly obtuse at worst.
'thought for the day'......did you know that brocoli and cauliflower are testosterone boosting foods.....
Did you know that you spelled "broccoli" wrong and the only reason you imagine these effects is due to aromatase inhibitors which don't "boost" testosterone but prevent it from being aromatized into estrogen?
I suppose the point of you saying this is that these foods are largely carbohydrate-based, but even then they only barely are and are acceptable on a low-carbohydrate diet. Also white button mushrooms which have basically no macronutrient value have greater concentrations of aromatase inhibitors.
'Thought for the day' did you know testosterone is a steroid and is therefore comprised of cholesterol?

Oh yeah, the other day my doctor said "taking proteins is on the same level as taking steroids !!!1111". I just shut up and smiled.

oh dear, forgive the fact that i spelt broccoli wrong! maybe i should crawl into a hole and die!
Broccoli contains Indole-3-carbinol which yes, can lessen estrogen in the body... thus aiding you raise your testosterone levels naturally...
The reason i recommend not eating as many fats is because 85% to 95% of your cholesterol is made by your liver, and not from the foods you eat. Hence why you have people who may lead a healthy lifestyle, but still have high levels of LDL cholesterol.
Anyway, im over this, its not like i really care what you do haha
So in other words I'm completely correct, and in addition cholesterol levels actually aren't dependent on your diet?

yes you are, but why would you want high calories in a form (fat) short/medium chain fatty acids(fast absorbtion) and long chain fatty acids (which takes longer to be digested into energy) when you can balance this with the right types of carbohydrate which are digested faster so that your body can produce ATP(adenosine triphosphate) for energy? Also carbs are are eventually broken down in the liver.
Then the levels of glucose in your blood rises and the pancreas secretes insulin to change the glucose into glycogen which is stored in the liver, and MUSCLE CELLS. Exactly where you want your energy for training. After excercise the pancreas will secrete glucagon which changes the glycogen back into glucose to prevent sugar levels being stuffed. I hope your pancreas works properly tho :P

I have to say that Steve's right in saying that cholesterol is influenced quite a bit by diet.
But I'm also gonna have to agree with Paul in regards to the consumption of such massive amounts of fat. Granted, if you consume the right sorts of fatty acids, it won't kill yourself through cholesterol, but you'll run into a lot of other problems through fatty acid imbalances. Eg say you eat a shitload of EPA and ALA, yes your HDLs will be high and ur LDLs will be low, but I can almost guarantee that you'll bleed a fuck load, and your prostaglandin F2alpha levels would be shit and not ideal for muss gain. Yes, you can avoid these problems by balancing the omega3s with omega6s, but damn it, there are easier and more pleasant ways to get the calories.

i think the point steve is trying to make is that you have the nutritional knowledge of a bio 100 student

Drink organic milk, if that still gives you acne, try organic goats milk. The normal milk you get at the grocery store is loaded with growth hormones and even ESTROGEN!!!!!!!!!......yeah.

Spelling oestrogen without the o is so awesome. Hormones won't survive long enough to get into your bloodstream seeing as your liver breaks everything down. But that would be cool otherwise ... steroid-milk!

Just about the only way to make milk better.
Also milk would be better if it came in sugar-free varieties (although I guess that's what lactose-free is basically)
