Oka so recently i seem to be losing my motivation for tricking that i had when i started....I think its due to the fact that almost my whole arsenal of tricks consists of kicks and btwist now....i had frontflpz down but i seem to have completly lost thm...:sad:
and lets face it, it a major motivation to tricking when ppl cheer for you when you go out and trick....and honestly normal ppl jus dnt understand the hard work that goes into complex kicking tricks....:ogre:
(heres where the stereotype "can u do a backflip" ideology comes in)
It woudnt be so bad if there were some ppl who trick around my area but theres not...and its hard to get my friendz into tricking when all i do is kicks....because they seem to thnk all im doing is "some kungfu sht"....
plus theres lyk no gyms around my area and therefore no pylo or trampolines to practice flips or get a spotter....sht evn the grass outside my house is filled with rocks...I basically jus go out every afternoon to the rocky grass by my house facing the roadside and drill all my kicks.....ppl pass by and dnt evn stop to watch or give a sht.....
i mean yea i kno ppl will say you should trick for yourself....bt its kinda hard when you watch samplers nowadayz and see ppl doing gainer s/t's and flashkicks and all tht...
right now im pursing the backflip but the slowest and probably stupidist way....by gaining enough back flexibility to do a walkover thn do a BHS and so on....yea call me a pussy but id rather have a bad technique backflip thn my head busted open by sharp rocks...
I honestly want to get good at tricking and maybe have a sampler featured on bilang and all tht....but everytime i watch a sampler nowadayz its like "whoa....if i cant backflip now how the f"""" will i ever progress to tht??....kno wht i mean?
but enough of my depresed rant...

I was just wandering if anybody thnk ill get anywhere in tricking if i jus continuously drill kicks everyday....or if anybody has any motivation they like to share....it would be appriciated

On the one hand...if you don't want to trick, you don't have to.

But the thing is, it seems you want so I guess you're sorta stuck with it. :tongue:

If you keep drilling your basic kicks, well you will progress. Even if it's the only thing you can do for a long time, just get them good. And you'll set up a solid foundation for them, and you'll be able to take pride in your accomplishments.

You just got to build up to it. Some people just do not progress fast.

But what's better, moving forward at the speed of a snail, or standing still? No matter how slow you're moving, you're still moving.

2 things that helped me
find self gradifiction in my trick (im still working this one)

make a samp. - a video log of ur progress. Progress is there, it is just hard 2 see

Grow some balls. I learned to back hand spring without a spotter. Not to mention I was 235lbs. That led onto wallflips at 270lbs. Backflip is just mental dude. Suck it up and chuck it.

lol i shall try this.....ill prolly work my btwist,540,s/t 1080 and some more.....as it seems i can almost do a jacknife now :juji:

why don't you get one of your friends to spot you?

Beacuse my friends are all scrawny and thin....
its like they dnt have any muscle in their body whatsoever and if they tried to spot me im sure theyd end up more hurt then me :ouch:
believe me i wish there was someone around to spot me....or evn any freakin trickers round cuz im sure if i get spotted ill get it after a few tries
For the back walkover, what you mainly want is shoulder flexibility and thoracic spine mobility for your vertebras to move in a joint effort rather then to hinge at the lumbar spine.

There's nothing wrong with this progression if it gives you the confidence to go further with your skills.

finally someone who dosnt thnk im crazy for doin this......
i mean IMO its the only logical way because everytime i go out to try a backflip the fear jus builds up more and then jus interfers with the rest of my tricking session....so i though y not jus practice flexibilty this whole winter and hopefully by the time next summer comes around ill atleast be throwing back handsprings...
funny thing is i could crash corks into the ground all day but i cant throw a freakin backflip :ogre:
got any specific strecthes?

Walk for grass. You think we all found gyms and train on the grass that is right outside our house ?
VIDEO your tricks. Tricking is an aesthetic sports, you NEED to see how your tricks look so that you can improve them, adjust technique, upload here for tips, etc.
We all want you to get better papi, i look forward to seeing you a few months from now, don't let us down man !

I was totally motivated today at uni spending lunch doing tricks.
My b-twists get better with hot girls attention :smile:

dude do anything you can to learn the backflip, specificly go to a gathering, or drive somewhere or get your parents to drive you dedicate a day to learn the backflip and when you do it opens up countless tricks and combos :)
try learning backhandsprings by jumping to the side then eventually straighting out thats how i did it.

just stretch your lats and shoulders as i pulled mine on the side i was doing it too. :)

Yea everybody keeps on sayin i should start video tapin my tricks....maybe ill actully do it when it stops raining....
crappy thing is i jus figured out i cant output my camcorder to my PC....so i cant upload it here :sad:
and the cams not evn tht old i jus recently bought it its a sony..
w/e guess ill jus watch it on my TV..

HAHA my neighbors seem to have nice grass.....plus they leave somewhere like every afternoon :bandit:

like pitlock said drill a couple tricks for like two weeks. you will be so happy with your progression. i did that with cheat 7s and now i can combo them pretty well.

i get all my inspiration from my friends and the "pro" tricksters. or i see someone that i thought of as more "mylevel" trying a trick i haven't tried or even thought about trying and then i go out and try it.

remember, yo udon't have to go throw double corks to be proud of your progress of the day. sometimes i will go outside and drill basic gainer flashes, btwists, just to see how high and floaty i can get them. dont set your goals so high, but when you train (at the very least 3 times a weak unless youre injured) give it your all or you are wasting your time.
