In celebration of Juji's new standing flash tutorial, I would like to make a standing flash video thread. It's a fun and useful move, it's very charismatic, and no one's flashkick ever looks the same.

I do that on all of my standing back moves. My arms flop around and such. I have an overall pretty goofy looking style.

so you shouldnt be trying them at all.

how? i doubt that 90% of people could tell if someone was pointing their toes on a flashkick if they did one in front of them.

plus, if you were to actually kick something with it, you would not want to kick with your toes

if you're taking that stance, you dont really want to be doing a backflip when you're trying to kick something... also even if you're referring to kicking something like a kicking paddle, you're far better off kicking it with your instep rather than trying to retract the toes and use the ball of the foot.

Actually, I agree with the pointing of the toes. Not for looks, obviously, but I feel that it helps direct power through the leg and to the leg's lowest and fastest moving point, granting the kicking leg a slight speed benefit.

yes, backflip is not the optimal position for kicking. I was referring to roundkick type technique, kicking with the shin/top of foot if need be. that would be way easier than kicking with your ball or instep

touche. but also with the foot flexed all the way it makes it easier to overrotate the landing to your heel, and landing on just the heel is not the safest way to land either
