Hey this thread, Share the times you have face planted or landed hard on your upper body region.

So far without a gym, i have been pretty lucky enough to get through some risky learning curves without injury! I don't crash much at all *touch wood(knock wood whatever the voodoo shit is)*

However i have had a few face plants over time!
Briefly when i first got into tricking i ate alot of sand at the beach getting b-twist and twists and what not just ate kg's of sand basically!


B-twist>S/t>Fulltwist>face

The other day i was Drilling B-twist and Scoot S/t>Gainer Flash and S/t>Corks. The ground i was on was dead solid mud with a bit of try hard scraps of grass so overall pretty rock solid by i felt pretty confident with my tricks. Just thinking the worst i will get will be land on my knees or flop on my side.

I started getting a bit tired and became more tolerant to make a mistake. But the weather was just grand and i just had to keep training. In front of a walking past high school class and a van load of some of my mates who were about i went in for a B-twist>S/t>Gainer Flash.

So i was set, Nice little hook kick>B-twist felt strong landed and had a little tooo much flat spin, i ignored it and just tried to counter it with wait and swung up off the ground and into my flash, Well then my body from muscle memory of the flat spin or something just torqued across my chest and i lost control of everything i was a slow spinning dead weight wait for some part of my body to smash the ground.

And there it was, The right side of my face starting at the temple and forehead then my ear and nose smashing in the ground with my body weight coming in on top! I stood up, and surprisingly didn't care much for embarrassment as i always believe well i don't see anyone else doing it. But i was just thankful that all i had was a tingly face with no muscle or bone injury! haha. I then walked back to my take off spot and done a B-twist>S/t>Gainer Flash.

Combo>1h slant Bhs>Fulltwist>Face

So i was having a trick, And kinda just made up this combo on the go, And i think i went for a backflip/sideflip/slant/Something. And ahh pretty self explanatory. I twisted lost twist half way through and face planted. Though i ended up with a sore knee for a few days, But again i was lucky and my head was fine!

did a wallflip in a narrow alley, as i flipped, i saw brick and thought it was the floor, opened out to land, and landed flat on my face on concrete ! then had to get stitches just above my eye in the hospital haha

lol yesterday me and my friend went to trick at the park. right when we got there it started raining. we were like fuck it, and ended up sessioning pretty good. only i slipped td raiz> cork and landed on my face, and he slipped on scoot> hyper 9 and bruised up his tailbone

i dont know exactly how it happened but apparently it came from 2 separate tricking attempts.

crazyasian n jester visited cali for sum reason and we sessioned (got the footage sumwhere) james n gary ip were battling btwist variations with their hands locked behind their backs. james had a scrape on one side of his forehead and by the end of the session he had a 2nd scrape on the other side of his forehead, but i dont remember how it happened. it wasnt so funny back then, but now that i think of it... lol

Landed on my face doing a double leg that was really low.


Landed on my back and face multiple times doing roundoff/ full twists.

Last year I did a front off this castle thing at a playground that was roughly 8 or 9 feet tall...I overflipped and my feet grazed the ground, face first. :tongue:

i think crazy was attempting suicideswipe to suicide swipe? I remember the scrapes tho, it was hella funny, he left San Jose with a matching scrape on the opposite side haha.

I haven't had many faceplants yet, but there is two that I always remember:

1) I was showing-off a Frontflip in school disco last year. I putted a great energy boost to one of my Frontflips and did it. It over-rotated and I faceplanted on floor :punched:
2) I was in Kouvola with some of my fellow finnish tricksters (Vellu was there too :D). I did a Hyper Cheat 720 Twist (by accident :smile:) and had a brutal faceplant when I landed.

No real faceplants.
Faceplants tend to be the ones that don't cause too much damage anyways haha.
I guess the last real faceplant was when I would try backflips on the beach when I was younger and would get a mouthful of sand.

Well when I was learning backflip, more than a year ago, I landed on my head somehow, And now I have an error in my neck[bone?:D]
Now Im having trouble with looking to the left because my neck is very stiff.
Also sometimes I feel like electrecity in nerves around there.

I was learning gainers and I was trying them on a crash mat.
As I went for one the mat slipped and I ended up landing straight on my neck and folding my head into my chest. I couldn't turn my head right for weeks.

Heres Mine! Aerial twist to sprained neck.Hurt for 6 weeks.I tried to laugh the pain away to hide my agony.But my head hit the ground so hard.And when It did It sounded like branches snapping.This is why you NEVER trick in wet grass with shoes on...

My computer is out of service for the moment, so i cannot retrieve the video, but here is how the story goes.
My friend and i were really bored one day, so we decided to go to Glimmerglass park (a really annoying park with a pond, some sand, and... well thats about all thats there) We forgot that it was almost winter and the park had closed for the season, so our attempt at joy was a failure from the start. On the depressing journey home we say a group, herd, flock (however they gather) of deer just eatin some grass near the road. As the boredom sunk in deeper and deeper i thought that it might be fun to try and catch one of them. So john taped it. After about a dozen stepps i realized that i didnt stand a chance in the least, so i might as well just throw something. It just so happens that roundoff back tuck was a trick i tried for the first time earlier that day, and i wasnt very good at them.. especially from a full spring. Low and behold i stood up with my glasses all tangled underneath me, and a seemingly endless supply of blood coming from between my eyes. It seems the center of the glasses had gouged the very top of my nose on impact. Luckly this did not hurt very much, however i couldnt wear my glasses normally (even after i bent them back to shape) for about a week.

Sorry that took so much longer then it shoud have, I'm quite bored right now and there are no deer in sight so i figured i would make it lengthy.
