Hi everybody,

A few month ago, I started watching tricking videos on youtube and I was so amazed that I decided to start to trick myself (!!!)
But the problem is that I cannot go to any gym yet. All I have is grass and grass and grass, yes I live in a very grassy region..
I have some kind of natural flexibility and every afternoon and when it is possible I do some stretches to improve my flexibility.
I want to know if it is a good idea to start tricking on grass ? How many people only trick on grass ?
I don't really have any gymnic experience yet.

Thanks and sorry for my n00byness

I started tricking on grass, then i moved to gym about 4 months after I started. Now I have gym sessions with the occasional grass session. It's good to change it up.

my feet have never touched pylo.....
IMO its possible to land most class a and class b tricks on grass without gettin hurt...
after you get a little more advanced a gym would be a good idea i guess

You don't need a gym. Be a grass monster.

I can do a backtuck, and I just injured myself today working on my a-twists during a grass session

Dude, start on the grass, that's where a lot of us started. Just train your flexibility, train your strength, and start on grass. Improvise, use couch cushions for crash pads and whatnot. The basics are very low-risk except for maybe the backflip and you can learn them on the grass no problem. A gym won't help too much with a b-twist or double-leg really. So just do work, and you'll be fine.

Ask Eddy Wang what he tricks on and you will know the definition of hardcore.

I have been tricking for about a year now and have never touched plyo.

well eddy wang is a pretty hardcore dude, tarp covered dirt is pretty hardcore but still i think grass is the best thing for tricking unless ur tumbling and stuff but i've never been on plyo before so i might be biased

But as far as I know plyo is just a little more bouncy than grass... its not safer than grass... am I wrong ?

grass is good for basics. at that level your not really needing a gym floor for anything you can learn it all on grass. i do some higher level tricks that ill still throw on grass and i tend not to get hurt.

plyo gives you more confidence to try things without much fear

plyo is spring in nature, grass is not.
therfor your safer on plyo, but grass is life.

Grass has a softer surface but plyo is more forgiving if you crash. Either way it's best to learn on grass because if you get your tricks high, fast, and floaty, on plyo they will be twice as good. Also it's a bad idea to get dependent on plyo to land all your tricks because tricking is about freedom of doing your tricks anywhere, anytime.

Tricking on pylo doesnt count. Grass and broken glass is for true kings.

considering that you are quite new at this, the type of tricks that you are trying to learn should not be to high in difficulty...so plyo is not necessary at the moment. plyo only becomes an asset when you begin performing a lot of high impact moves such as doubleleg twists, kim do kicks, and tumbling.
